I'm no Romney fan, but you are nuts if you think Newt is fearless and has anything to teach anyone about backbone:
Newt didn’t just reach across the aisle with the Democrats. He walked across the aisle and sat on the couch with them!
Talk to me, Ch.
Out of office, Newt, hustled his few think tanks in DC for funding, and among his contacts were some Democrats, the infamous Nancy Pelosi being one. Blew my mind, too. I didn’t like it either.
BUT, in office Newt Gingrich was hell on wheels and you surely know that as Speaker of the House, he was the intrument by which we took the House for the first time, after 40 years in the desert, when Democrats owned all three houses.
Come on man.
Since Newt crawled through glass for the Republican Party, there has been nothing accomplished that even begins to compare with what Newt delivered to us, under fire every step of the way. Newt’s historic success and the genius behind his “Contract with America” flushed out Republicans and actually had them doing there job back then, because he was a workaholic.
He left and they have been pudding ever since. He balanced the budget pulling the House purse strings and PO’d many Republican players getting that done.
They despise him because they couldn’t match him then, and they can’t match him now.
Nevermind his retirement years and marketing faux pauxs, in office this guy rocks.
