Talk to me, Ch.
Out of office, Newt, hustled his few think tanks in DC for funding, and among his contacts were some Democrats, the infamous Nancy Pelosi being one. Blew my mind, too. I didn’t like it either.
BUT, in office Newt Gingrich was hell on wheels and you surely know that as Speaker of the House, he was the intrument by which we took the House for the first time, after 40 years in the desert, when Democrats owned all three houses.
Come on man.
Since Newt crawled through glass for the Republican Party, there has been nothing accomplished that even begins to compare with what Newt delivered to us, under fire every step of the way. Newt’s historic success and the genius behind his “Contract with America” flushed out Republicans and actually had them doing there job back then, because he was a workaholic.
He left and they have been pudding ever since. He balanced the budget pulling the House purse strings and PO’d many Republican players getting that done.
They despise him because they couldn’t match him then, and they can’t match him now.
Nevermind his retirement years and marketing faux pauxs, in office this guy rocks.
Newtie is largely a self serving politician. He debates well though.
Always liked, (past tense) Newt...have followed him for a couple of decades but he was a pathetic campaigner. Totally lost me when he went after Romney and Bain Capital...stupid move.
Then his constant whining during the campaign was pathetic...”FOX is being mean to me”. He ran a terrible campaign and deserved to lose; plus, there is no way he would have beat Obozo. And don’t give me the “he would have beat Obozo in debate”; very few elections have been decided by debates.
Sorry, Newt is just where he should be...right where he put himself.
Amen. Thank you, Rita. And he didn't get solidly BEHIND and PROMOTE five main liberal agenda issues, like one keystone Republican I can think of. They sneer at Gingrich (hey, I've done my share of it), but would they call me a "purist" for rejecting Mitt?
*sigh*
