The good folks still outnumber the bad in this country. I firmly believe that if push comes to shove, as it might well do, that the good folks will prevail.

It could get ugly along the way. What you said about your wife's encounter with the hooded black men in your neighborhood is a red flag that you've got to pay attention to. I hope the individual right of self defense is strong in your state. You may need to fall back on that soon.

If you don't already, I hope that you and your wife can get CCW permits, and arm yourselves for protection.

We are military history buffs; we have a pretty good arsenal of mostly vintage weapons. We like to shoot and we both have current CCW permits. The problem is that even armed if the bad guy sneaks up on you unexpectedly you still have a life or death struggle on your hands and there is a pretty good chance that they will come out on top.
