Robbery Suspect Dead in Pharmacy Shooting(WV)

WHEELING -

A man is dead after attempting to rob an Elm Grove pharmacy at about 5 p.m. Friday.

According to authorities an unknown white man entered the Elm Grove Pharmacy located at 101 E. Bethlehem Blvd. carrying a gun tried to hold up the store. A pharmacy employee then shot the man, killing him.

The investigation was turned over from the Wheeling Police Department to the West Virginia State Police. State Police Sgt. D.L. Robinson said no information would be released as the incident is under investigation.

Wheeling officers, State Police, representatives from the Brooke County Medical Examiner and the State Medical Examiner offices were on scene for several hours.

Personnel from the Wheeling Fire Department also responded to the scene.

The suspects identity has not been released.
