The Hellfire Missile is great, but personally, I love it when the 30mm Chain Gun is employed.
The first few shots may miss some of the bad guys, so they try to run away, praying to Allah for "mercy" the whole time.
But then, they all die tired and breathless, knowing Allah has failed them.
Actually, not all die, but it's always great to leave a few survivors to tell everyone else what happens when you mess with Army Aviation.

“The M789 AP/DP round is typically used in the M230. Each round contains 21.5 g (0.76 oz) of explosive charge sealed in a shaped-charge liner. The liner collapses into an armor-piercing jet of metal that is capable of penetrating more than 2 inches of RHA. Additionally, the shell is also designed to fragment upon impact. The lethal radius against unprotected, standing targets is about 10 ft (3.0 m) under optimum conditions. The M789 requires about 2 seconds to travel 1,000 m (3,300 ft). However, as the shell slows down, it takes over 12 seconds to cover 3,000 m (9,800 ft).
So it's probably still good out to at least 3 or 4 klicks, and 3k downwind will not be heard over truck and other sounds.

Incorrect. The Longbow RADAR is atop the rotor mast. The TADS is mounted on the chin above the chain gun.
The 30mm sure seems to have a lot of dispersion for some reason. Too many rounds impacting well away from the apparent point of aim.
The P-51 and P-47 were also a lot closer to their targets - 100m to 200m vs. 1000m to 2000m for these attacks.

I didn’t know this round has such a large kill radius. That explains why the rounds can kill even with the dispersal pattern that the videos typically show.
My stepson, who served in Iraq as an Abrams tank driver, showed me this and said it was from the M240 atop a tank.
I think this is because they are engaging from far away. The Apache can use the 30mm from almost 6km.
It does seem to take awhile after you hear the shots to the time the rounds actually hit.
Missiles are cool but muzzie plinkin’ with the gun has gotta be more fun for our guys! Great ending!!!
