For what’s it’s worth.........

snip
Judge Moriarty admitted he was using Tran as an example. Willis High School has a warning about truancy violation on its website .

According to Texas truancy law students can have no more than 10 unexcused absences - full days or part days - within six months, and no more than three absences within one month.

Another IDIOT one-size-fits-all mouth-breather of a judge. He needs an immediate recall. He isn't fit to sit on the bench.

Use your JUDGMENT. That's why they call you a "judge" (except, clearly in your case, it's a gross misnomer.

Looks like a litany of hanging offenses to me. We need to “make an example” of this slime ball. How soon will the sentence be carried out?

By the way, notice how his “charitable” donations use other people's money.

Let’s let this twit know how we “appreciate” the job he doing. Anyone want to take up a collection for Miss Tran?

This is just one of those “hidden”secrets that those who crow about just how “good” Texas is don’t tell you about. Texas still allows schools to “administer” corporal punishment (that’s hitting your kid without your permission). Glad I don’t live there! The “sheriff” from the old Dodge commercials is still alive and well in Texas. Yo in a heap o trouble boy!

Judge Moriarty admitted he was using Tran as an example.

So he admitted that he was excessively punishing her. His sentence needs to be immediately vacated and he needs to be removed from the bench ASAP.

You got that right!

More than just a principal or judge involved in this case.

Texas Education Code 25.0951 states that:

If a student fails to attend school without excuse on ten or
more days or parts of days within a six-month period in the
same school year, the District shall within ten school days of the student’s tenth absence:

1. File a complaint against the student or the student’s
parent or both in a county, justice, or municipal court for an offense under Education Code 25.093 or 25.094, as
appropriate, or refer the student to a juvenile court in a
county with a population of less than 100,000; or

2. Refer the student to a juvenile court for conduct indicating
a need for supervision under Family Code 51.03(b)(2).

I don’t get all the posters on this thread calling the judge a socialist. He seems like the very model of a rules-first social conservative - the exact type who gives Republicans a bad name.

That’s fine, but did any of the “concerned and caring” educators do anything to help?

Schools have to have parental permission to paddle students.

Good question. I don’t know. Maybe you can run it down for us.
