LANSING, MI -- Michigan Congressman Thaddeus McCotter said late Friday he has been told that he may not have turned in enough valid voter signatures to qualify for the August primary ballot.
"I have been apprised my campaign may have submitted insufficient petition signatures to appear on the August primary ballot as a candidate for the 11th Congressional District's Republican nomination."

There is a seat we are going to lose!
Oh, no! I like this guy. Quirky, my foot. He speaks the truth. How can this happen?
even though he’s brilliant, he sucks at self promotion and not very active at campaigning. Lazy?
....and this guy thought he had what it takes to be president?
Maybe he can start a blog and join FR.
Get local Tea Partiers taking here in his district off the record and you might here he is more of an Establishment Republican than a Conservative. To be honest, I was even thinking of voting for his opponent as a protest vote. Their is more but not for here...
This looks like sabotage from his own base. If a guy needs 2000 signatures, and 1000 are tossed outoo, that means either his campaign was not doing its job (laziness, fraud) or somebody was deliberately submitting bogus signatures.
You know brilliant minds think alike :-). I posted, then went for a coffee and thought about it, and that concept entered my brain. Maybe even outside forces, SEIU? Unions of other stripes getting their hands on the papers? or just a clerical snafu in Lansing that can be addressed? We will find out Tuesday....
Now he tells us.
What the hell has he been doing?
What do you know about Kerry Bentivolio? Apparently, he's a "Tea Party" candidate, and if the Republican establishment doesn't want him, that would seem to be one thing in his favor!
Actually we’ve got one of the best Secretaries in the country. She made a name for herself as a county commissioner who took on ACORN fraud and then taking on the fake tea party in 2010. Since then, she’s been purging dead and illegal voters from the voter rolls.
Cause no one does it better than this...
How hard it is to get 3-4000 signatures? Candidates that run statewide in VA have to get 10,000 signatures - and most of them get 15, 20 or 25,000 signatures.
Overwhelming numbers eliminate these problems.

I read at Detroit Free Press you may only submit between 1,000 and 2,000 signatures for the ballot
