Apparently, he's a "Tea Party" candidate, and if the Republican establishment doesn't want him, that would seem to be one thing in his favor!
"LaRouche national slate candidate Bill Roberts, who successfully filed the required signatures to be in the Democratic primary, appears to be in a far better position to win after the long-standing incumbent Thad McCotter (R-MI) screwed up his filing, and appears to be ineligible to appear on the ballot. McCotter is in his fifth term and was considered a sure thing. He had only an unknown Tea Party opponent in the primary. He may try a write-in campaign, but that is reportedly very difficult in Michigan.
