Led Zeppelin II has died.
Not the album ... the man.
Zeppelin, of downstate Bethalto, near St. Louis, was known most of his life as George Blackburn before officially changing his name last fall.

Wow. That was our wedding song too, 35 years ago!
I used to play and sing it to her before we got married. Got her all goose bumpy. Made for some great nights.
Apparently we have quite a few Freepers who have listened to a lot of Zeppelin!
Slightly off topic, but check out this all female band called Zeperella, playing when The Levee Breaks

The Good Lord said it was time to “Bring It On Home”....
Awesome! I guess that one of the amazing things about great music is how it becomes a part of our personal history. For those of us who came up in the 60s and 70s, Led Zeppelin was a part of the soundtrack of our lives. It was funny. A lot of older people came up and said, “What a pretty song. Who is that?” Congratulations on 35 years and many more!
Will the Viking Kittens carry his casket?
I am Dazed and Confused after reading this...
Did the fellow work in Vegas as a Led Zeppelin impersonator?
I doubt it will be much of a “Celebration Day”, but who knows, maybe they’ll serve some “Custard Pie” at his wake...
I figured that you knew, but was trying to make a joke.
It’s gonna be a long time till he rock and rolls .......
i’ve often considered changing my name to “Physical Graffiti”...
“How Many More Times” will someone post a Zeppelin song title in this thread? /sarcasm to self.
Led Z... I always thought it was the name of the group not an individual.
So wheres Robert Plant Jimmy Page play in this....Help me I am dyen over here!!!!!!
RIP.
Zeperella holy crap !
Someone suggested “The Crunge” but he was overheard replying “Ain’t gonna call me Mr. Pitiful.”
if you read the article its pretty good...he talks about his “Good Times, Bad Times” but there seemed to be a “Communication Breakdown” about the reason he changed his name...then again who are we to judge him for changing his name?? its just “what is and What Should Never Be” but i guess “That’s the Way” and he probably doesn’t care as i’m sure he had many “Friends”...
good thing he didn’t die at the “Gallow Pole” of course if he lived a good life he’s probably at the “Houses of the Holy” right now....i’m sure his enemies are thinking these are “Dancing Days” since he’s gone, then again for most of them i’m sure “the song remains the same”....in his new home he’ll find out what its like to be “trampled under foot” though if he’s lucky his first moments in the next world were spent walking “into the light”....
dying at age 64YO of a heart attack??? if it was his lifestyle he must surely be saying “Nobody’s fault but mine”....the article didn’t say what time he died, so i wonder if it was “In the Evening”????
If I had known you can change your name like that, I’d have changed mine to 13th Floor Elevator a long time ago. Or to ? and the Mysterians.
His Presence will be missed.
