He largely is a good man and a conservative, but in Utah we can do much, much better. (Also, never forget that 36-year veteran Hatch first won his seat by attacking the over-long tenure ... of a 24-year veteran!!) Hatch has strayed left lately a la Dick Lugar. Although I doubt the challenger can stop Hatch, this was a mistake by Sarah Palin and Mark Levin IMHO.

A real conservative realizes that getting elected to Congress is not supposed to be a lifetime appointment, and that after couple of terms of public service, it's time to step down and let other conservative serve.

With that said, if Hatch loses the election, who takes over his leadership position on the Judiciary Committee?

Hatch is no Lugar. He’s a good man and would be needed to keep Romney from appointing a liberal SCOTUS judge.
