If a politician has been in DC for more than 8 years, they wouldn’t get my vote, I don’t care who they are.
You Bad Sarah..
He largely is a good man and a conservative, but in Utah we can do much, much better. (Also, never forget that 36-year veteran Hatch first won his seat by attacking the over-long tenure ... of a 24-year veteran!!) Hatch has strayed left lately a la Dick Lugar. Although I doubt the challenger can stop Hatch, this was a mistake by Sarah Palin and Mark Levin IMHO.
They are all so mindlessly devoted to their pathological pretension, deception, and dishonesty, that they just might vote against Hatch just because she endorsed him.
He always seemed truly Conservative to me.
A bit genteel, but that was the "old way of the Senate."
He strikes me these days as being the Senator from the RIAA.
No less a conservative luminary than Phyllis Schlafley has railed against him for years, despite his important work long ago in authoring the excellent Hatch Amendment, which made Schlafley’s “Child Abuse in the Classroom” volume possible.
Nice try, n00b.
Did you try to find out *why* she supported hatch? (Mark Levin supports him, too.)
He's been very good on the judiciary.
Cheers!
This reeks of yet another favor for McCain. She’s getting beat up pretty bad on her Facebook page because of it.
“Mark Levin endorsed him, too, based on Hatchs solid advocacy of conservative judges.”
Hatch voted for the nominations of David Souter, Stephen Breyer, and Ruth Bader Ginsberg to the Supreme Court. He also strongly supported George W. Bush’s nomination of Harriet Miers to the court (later withdrawn). Lest we forget it was Harry Reid who recommended to George Bush he nominate Ms. Miers to the Court. To his credit Hatch did vote against Kagan and Sotamayor.
His record does not suggest over time Mr. Hatch’s advocacy of conservative judges is “solid”. Hatch is an entrenched member of the Republican establishment and it appears the establishment has decided to do what it must to support Mr. Hatch’s reelection including calling in favors from conservative leaders and commentators.
Just jumped the shark.
Me too. Bump
“I notice your signup date is over a year AFTER she resigned as governor.
Nice try, n00b.”
And just what does that have to do with the issue? I’ve been involved in politics for most of my 71 years, six of those years as an elected County Central Committee Member. Hatch has been a good Senator in some respects, but he’s been there for 36 years! Now, it’s not about us, it’s about him. Everyone is entitled to there opinion. We disagree.
Oh, you are so wrong.
Try Linseed as your Senator for a while and then say that.
Obviously we never knew you.
There is none worse than Hatch.
You forget about Arlen?
Or Lindsey?
Or McQueeg?
If a FReeper can say good bye to Sarah so very easily, then it is likely that FReeper wasn’t a supporter at the time just before he heard the news about the Hatch endorsement.
Why do these threads with “Palin” in the title attract anti-Palin FR members so quickly? Why won’t they just skip such a thread? /rhetoric
Hatch voted in favor of TARP in 2008 and he voted against TARP in 2009. “Hatch voted in favor of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008.[22] The bill authorized $300 billion to guarantee mortgages and restore confidence in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac” Wiki
Hatch is conservative on other issues but we need conservatives to remain strong on all issues. You are right..Utah can do better.

I believe it was a not-serious statement. The poster was probably anticipating lots of anti-Palin screeds to follow on this thread. They began quickly this time.
