I probably spoke too strongly about couldn’t care less about the environment, but I am married to woman from Mexico, so I can see that the environment is not such an important issue in Mexico as it is here.

No worries, I understand. In Mexico, as in most of Latin America, the big issue is to put food on the table. For most working class families in the US, it is the same thing. Especially with the lib propensity to bankrupt states and the country.

Mexico is a poor country, hence not so much emphasis on the environment. England in the 1800s was highly polluted (hence the foggy london of S. holmes), but as people got richer, they asked for a better quality of life. The same will happen in Mexico

What started off as a good thing (caring for the environment) when taken to extremes (environazis) is bad.

the same thing with liberalism. I was watch Downton Abbey (a British serial about life ina county great house from 1912 to 1920) and in many ways the liberals at that time were correct -- asking for equal opportunities and preventing aristocracy from being utter despots -- but taken to extremes and you had communism.
