Marco Rubio, during an address at the annual South Carolina Republican Partys Silver Elephant Banquet Saturday night, called President Barack Obama the most divisive figure in modern American history. (Via CNN):
For all the policy disagreements that we have with our president, it is hard to understate how much he inspired people across this country four years ago, Rubio said at a fundraising dinner for South Carolina Republicans.
The man who currently occupies the White House, he explained, is a very different person.
We have not seen such a divisive figure in modern American history as we have over the last three and a half years, Rubio said.
They get frustrated, he said. They cant win on their record. And so they have chosen to go down a different road, one that I think is destructive, counterproductive and very unfortunate.
He accused the Obama campaign of attempting to pit Americans against each other by engaging in class warfare and unfairly attacking Republicans on gender issues.
Never have we seen such an effort to divide the American people in an effort to win an election as we have today, Rubio said.
Well, the Florida Senator does have a point. After all, last week the Obama campaign released a deeply divisive and unfair attack ad against Bain Capital portraying Mitt Romney as a capitalistic vampire who laid off thousands of workers at a steel plant in Missouri to maximize profits. Indeed, its a nice narrative that resonates well with the left, but as fact checkers recently pointed out, its simply not true. The outsourcing at the company in question GST Steel took place in 2000 and 2001 about a year after Romney left his post at Bain Capital. But hey, facts are inconvenient things when youre running for reelection at a time when the unemployment rate is above 8 percent and millions of Americans cant find work. Divide and Conquer!
By contrast, Mitt Romney is running a much more positive campaign. In his first general election television advertisement, for example, he outlined three policies hed pursue the first day of his presidency to make the United States a more free and prosperous nation.
Exit question: What solutions has President Obama proposed to lower unemployment, balance the budget, and reduce the national deficit? Oh, right.
Those pesky “white Hispanics”.
I don’t care what he says. Rubio is a liberal first and a Republican second.
Rubio can’t wait to “work” together with President Obama on illegal immigration to pass a liberal immigration bill.
Rubio can’t even pay his house payment...
RUBIO be Right.
I dont care what he says. Rubio is a liberal first and a Republican second.
Rubio cant wait to work together with President Obama on illegal immigration to pass a liberal immigration bill.
I no longer trust any politician.
” I no longer trust any politician.”
Good start!
You are lying. He never said he was for illegal immigration
Yes he is
He told the truth.
Rubio is another busy body lawyer who never held a real job in his life and has never produced a goddamned thing other than new ways of regulating people lives.
It’s getting pretty bad for Obama when the Democratic mayor of Newark, N.J. calls Obama’s campaign attack ad against Governor Romney “nauseating”.
Rubio is like Reagan in his ability to communicate the conservative message in a strong, yet appealing way. We need a positive voice like Rubio.
“Freshman Republican U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio lives up to his conservative billing, according to the new ratings. Rubio gets a 100 percent ACU score and a 97 percent score from Club For Growth.” http://www.postonpolitics.com/2012/03/whos-most-conservative-in-florida-two-new-scorecards-might-surprise-you/
It sure is
It sure is
Kudos.
Certainly a much more effective approach, than pandering to illegal aliens...
Though now, Rubia may have cast doubt on his own credibility.
The hatred of some in here against Marco Rubio is something else
Pandering to illegal aliens, is not a real fast way into Freepers’ hearts.
Remember when George W Bush called anyone who wanted a border fence “vigilantes”?
How is Rubia acting any different, the last three weeks?
Take a hike back to Cuba, Rubio.
For your information Cubans are not illegals
