MIAMI, FLORIDA Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney scheduled a $50,000-a-plate fundraiser at the home of Phil Frost, the executive of the company that makes the Morning After Pill, on Wednesday night. Plan B One-Step is produced by Teva Pharmaceuticals, Frosts company.

A little “double entendre” there, no?
Mitt Romney wins much coveted Jimmy Carter endorsement

"It's a feel-good story, this Romney thing.
Romney is an ascendant guy."

First Mormon I ever knew had become a postal inspector ~ forced him out of that shell.
Great guy. When he retired we gave him a tremendous party.
Not a single Mormon but him was there ~ even though we had others at work.
Do you know why they reverted?
Roe v. Wade demonstrates only that a Supreme Court is capable of producing evil. We knew that long before 1973. The fact remains, as spelled out in our Declaration of Independence, that the right to life is granted by God and not by government.
If a President Romney were to pack the Supreme Court with Mormons and that Supreme Court were to rule that the states must permit or even require polygamy, would you then feel that we would need an explicit constitutional amendment to restore morality?
Trust God, not the Supreme Court.
There is zero chance of that happening with Obama. There is some chance of that happening with a President Romney and a Republican Senate. That's the best I can see right now.
look, both these guys are the same ~ they’ll have someone else shoot you in the head and the foot simultaneously.
You still have not said how you suggest we change the current situation and get laws against abortion. I’d like to hear your proposal.
That is the scariest picture I’ve seen in a while!
There will be a lot of prior republican voters staying home this time due to Romney's persona and vicious campaign.
No way is Obama gonna give up his power.
...and this one.....
Johnson's war on poverty in 64 paved the way for strategic thinking.
R v W was difinitely one of their more brilliant ones.
Collective bargaining of state and federal employees and teachers was another. Especially when they can get 51% of the workforce to work for govt.
meanwhile, we worry about the degree of conservatism our candidate professes and displays prior to considering the vote.
< s > After all, it would be better to have the dem win, because we know where they are coming from. < / S >
My proposal is to vote only for candidates who respect the best and most important founding principles of our nation, as specified in the Declaration of Independence, and to vote only for candidates who profess and truly believe that the gift of life is a gift of God and not just a temporary dispensation from the government.
My proposal is to withhold my vote from any candidate who refuses to aggressively campaign to outlaw ALL abortions.
I ask again - this is the moron we’re supposed to rally around because he’s such a stark choice versus Obama?
Romney has said he wants to nominate justices like Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, and Alito and that he wants to see Roe v. Wade overturned, which would enable the states once again to have laws against abortion. That is the exact opposite of Obama’s position. Do you have a better idea that will actually go anywhere and do anything? That will get us any laws against abortion nationally or in any of the states? I’d really like to hear it.
I forgot to tell trebb in my last post to him that Tom Hoefling (known here as Eternal Vigilance) has my vote this year for POTUS as long as he wants it. He is the morally safe choice for POTUS and has never, in my recollection, been wrong on FR. I have argued with him before figuring out that he is right on the third party thing. I should have voted Hoefling in 2008 but I foolishly voted for McLame instead. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!
Hoefling for POTUS!
If Romney is truly opposed to abortions, then maybe he could begin campaigning to outlaw all abortions.
Do you see him campaigning to outlaw all abortions?
Doesn’t Romneycare provide government funding for abortions?
Do you think we should go by what Romney might now say or by what Romney has said and done in the past?
Hi, Charles. If he has said this, can we really believe him? He is all over the map on all the issues, and I fear that he says what any given group he’s addressing wants to hear. I am not addressing this to be derisive but to truly understand the mindset of a man that seems to have no moral compass but only can seem to say and do what is expedient at any given moment.
I am praying for this country. It seems to be my only option now.
That could be. I don't trust Romney. He may very well be a political chameleon. But that still could work out OK, especially with a Congress much more conservative than the Massachusetts legislature.
Also, now that he's got the nomination wrapped up and he's running against Obama, if deep down he were a liberal (assuming there is a "deep down" there), then why is he still campaigning on a conservative platform?
