They could say, "We didn't know Zimmerman was actually black. This is just another case of black-on-black violence, so nothing to see here, move along."

But they want to use this as a club against Stand Your Ground and against the right of self-defense (so that people in America will be as lacking in rights as those in England). Plus by portraying Zimmerman as white they keep alive the ogre of white racism as the main problem facing the country.

Wow, I’m practically in tears. Was this in the paper or just on their web site?

Nevermind, I found it. She writes a conservative blog for the web site. I wish it was in the paper.

I think Angela Corey did the right thing, both politically and legally. She knew she had potential riots on her hands. So she bought time, charging Zimmerman with something upon which she knew there was no possibility of getting a conviction. Time allowed a situation that was potentially disastrous for innocents to blow over, with the hucksters avoiding the embarrassment of the facts as they slowly leaked out. The black community will calm down as they find out that their angel was a doped out kid drifting into being a borderline thug. Hopefully, Zimmerman will end up with a life without fear, somewhere else.

Every year my sophomore English classes read “The Crucible,” and every year those students learn about mass hysteria. The good news is that every student understands how the elements of mass hysteria can be seen in the attitudes and opinions of many people about the shooting of Trayvon Martin. In fact, it’s such a good example of mass hysteria I might use the incident for many years to follow, as long as there’s some interest in the case.

There’s other good news here. I think this is the end of the road for those screaming “racism” every time something unseemly or uncomfortable occurs to someone who is black. A trial against George Zimmerman will reveal a nice guy trying to help his neighbors and a thug kid high on dope swept up by gangster culture and antiwhite racism. A lot of people are going to have that “hey, wait a minute” moment as the trial progresses, and those using the killing to promote their bigoted race-baiting agenda will be hung out to dry.

And there’s even more good news. The peace made after the civil rights battles had two elements. First, whites were always to act ashamed. Second, blacks were absolved of responsibility for their situation. This incident is dissolving that agreement, and so much the better. Accusing a individuals of ugly motives because of something that their ancestors did is the essence of racism and bigotry. There have been sporadic voices calling for black responsibility, and hopefully this incident will promote more of that talk. I don’t know about you, but I’m sick to death of blacks (and some other “minorities”) walking around with a giant chip on their shoulders for mostly imagined slights against themselves and their race. Bull Conner died a long time ago; stop whining about it.

So I don’t think it is going to turn out like the left planned it, but, then again, top-down thinking often falls victim to unexpected circumstances.

Probably both, they’re paying her good money to write for them.

I saw that. Furhmann really made a fool of himself. He said there were two “confrontations,” the first of the two being initiated by Zimmerman and said nothing about the second, leaving the idea hanging that Zimmerman also initiated the second and somehow pursued it to the point of killing Martin. Kelly, who initially, when the killing was first reported, jumped to the conclusion that it was second degree murder, never bothered to ask Furhmann about the second, lethal confrontation and what evidence there is to show Zimmerman initiated it. It appears they both wanted to dance around the actual facts, imply that Zimmerman illegally shot Martin, and lynch Zimmerman.

You’re right on when you call Martin a “thug kid.” One of his own Twitter posts shows him sporting about five gold crowns on his front teeth. As my dentist remarked a couple of days ago, such hardware goes for about $1,200 per tooth, making a total expenditure of $6,000. No kid from a modest background like Martin’s is going to be able to raise that kind of money for such disfiguring cosmetic dentistry, absent an illegal source of income like drug dealing or burglary, both of which it looks like he was involved in.

As I have stated on other blogs, George Zimmerman should immediately be released, he should be given 24 hour armed protection by the FBI issued by direct order of Attorney General Eric Holder.

The Florida female prosecuter that indicted Zimmerman should be fired and then sued by Zimmerman for withholding evidence that proved Trayvon Martin, Obama’s son, was naught but a teenage, thug, gangsta, possible druggie, and Black racist to boot.

And...along with a law suit against the state of Florida, Zimmerman should directly sue, POTUS Obama, Eric Holder, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and just about every member of the CBC, racists all!!! End of story!!!

Seems like even The Washington Post is trying to cover its behind by publishing articles like this one, that run against the paper’s political tilt...

They realize that they’re “on the losing side” of the issue, but to this point have been “all in” for a railroad job. They’ve got to back away slowly. Not that it will help their reputation!

I believe Mr. Zimmerman’s attorney has already said he will ask that the charges be dropped.

Angela Corey could be Romney’s pick for SCOTUS for all we know right now.

But it looks like her career is probably over.

Jennifer Rubin is a token conservative at the Washington Post.

Liberals can’t abandon their lies. If they did, there’d be nothing left of them.

I'm sorry, but I must disagree. She might have done the right thing politically, but certainly not legally. It is irresponsible and unethical to pursue charges against an individual when you know there is exculpatory evidence that will make a conviction unlikely. A responsible prosecutor analyzes the available evidence and makes a decision based on the law.

What right did this woman have to destroy George Zimmermann's life, when there was substantial evidence he could not be convicted? This is not a mobster with a long rap sheet who can be squeezed for information. This is an ordinary citizen who has had his civil rights stolen from him, and has been made to expend great sums for a legal defense that should not be necessary.

This is the tyranny of the state in action - they can't convict you, but they punish you nonetheless. Your freedom is seized, your finances are ruined, and your safety is put at greater jeopardy by a prosecuter who holds herself above the law. She should be disbarred (as an officer of the court she is supposed to be supporting JUSTICE, not perpetrating persecution).

Fuhrman was on yesterday with one of their female lawyers. I guess he’s so scared of being called a racist again that he’s overcompensating. Made me sick to my stomach. Unless he was an eyewitness, he should shut his pie-hole.
