Both David Axelrod and Jim Messina put out the bait and unfortunately Mitt Romney took it.
Joe Ricketts, formerly of TD Ameritrade and whose family owns the Chicago Cubs, proposed putting together a series of Super PAC ads highlighting President Obama's relationship with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Both Axelrod and Messina said that Romney should take a page out of John McCain's book and not focus on Wright. Well, of course, Axelrod and Messina would like that because, gee, McCain lost to Obama. Romney responded it would be "the wrong course for a PAC or a campaign."

What Romney ought to have said something along the lines of, "We'll take your suggestion under advisement. In the meantime, when is the Obama PAC run by Bill Burton going to return Bill Maher's $1 million?" That would have put the ball back into President Obama's court instead of having Romney juggle a hot potato he shouldn't have touched in the first place.

Because he’s a PUTZ! If he got half the dander up that he used against Newt and the rest of the GOP opponents in the primary, he’d win.
But now that he apparently has it locked up (I hope the hell he doesn’t), he’s going to do a McLame and apologize every day for any and all negative campaigning.
This piece of garbage that’s living in our White House deserves to be humiliated and slammed to the ground with documents proving his fraudulent background.
But Mitzi won’t do a G__damn thing to bury this ba$tard.
He’s a PUTZ!
Romney should carefully but aggressively attack the Obama campaign’s divisive tactics. Biden’s rantings are near insane as well as communistic. The complaints about the Wright issue are because they are scared to death - of Wright’s latest revelations!
It’s Wright who is saying Obama is a liar, and that Obama really agrees with Wright.
“He’s going to have to learn how to play the game.”
He got the memo to play it like Ace McCain did.
Patience, Grasshopper.
Right now Obama is imploding all on his own...what good does it do to bring that stuff out now, when nobody is paying attention anyway?
I don’t seem to recall President Bush even bringing up Kerry’s Vietnam record, or if he did, he merely said that Kerry served honorably.
romney is one of the worst candidates in republican party history... he attacked Santorum and Newt with a ferocity of lies that make wright look tame... but he refuses to use the truth and evidence that proves what a corrupt liar and fake obama is. I hope that all of you mitt lovers are satisfied... maybe he will offer to apologize to obama on national TV and perform for the king on bended knee.

He may be a putz but mitt is also a ****ing dim.

Fair enough. (As long as we don't lose sight over the fact that the ultimate line of attack... is against Obozo's own miserably failed presidency).
Romney knows very well how to play the game, which is the reason he only attacks conservatives.
Swish!
RINOmney demand something?????
HA!
He shoots. He scores! :)
FU Mittens.
Because Romney is a quisling. He doesn’t demand anything; he asks nicely. Unless,of course, you happen to be a conservative. Then he will conduct a ruthless, vicious smear campaign against you to destroy you.
Because he is the second coming of Mcnasty
Because he is the second coming of Mcnasty
Mittens never threw a punch at Teddy Kennedy during their campaign, either. With all the negatives surrounding the Swimmer, with such a target-rich environment, Romney never once took the gloves off. Small wonder Mitt lost.
On the other hand, aren’t Super PACs supposed to be independent from any candidate’s campaign?
We might still see some Super PAC fireworks, despite Mittens meekness.
