State Senator Deb Fischer holds an 18-point lead over Democrat Bob Kerrey in the first Rasmussen Reports survey of the Nebraska U.S. Senate race since her upset win in last weeks state Republican primary.
A new telephone survey of Likely Voters in Nebraska shows Fischer with 56% support to 38% for Kerrey who is trying to reclaim the Senate seat he retired from in 2001. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate in the race, and three percent (3%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
This Nebraska survey of 500 Likely Voters was conducted May 16, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 4.5 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Fieldwork for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.

Apparently John Kerry’s endorsement of Bob Kerry did not carry much weight in Nebraska! Makes me proud of the folks in Nebraska.
I was only 5 minutes ago reading some pundit about how this Fisher victory put the seat in jeopardy for the GOP, b/c Kerrey is so awesome and Fisher is such a loon! Bwahahaha!
Glad to see this doesn`t appear to be such a gamble. I couldn`t help but be haunted by images of Sharron Angle.
Another scalp for the so-called dumb Sarah Palin . . .
Oops! Shouldn’t mention scalp in a post without a reference to Spreading Bull . . .
I was called last night in the poll referenced in the article. Kerrey was saying on the local news last night, that we need to change the constitution in order to change to all non-partisan races and roles for Washington DC office-holders. (sounds like he thinks the Dems are going to FAIL in Nov?)
NICE!
Hopefully she can deliver for Cruz in Texas!
I think if Cruz forces Dewhurst into a runoff, he has an excellent shot...and maybe Palin would even work the state prior the runoff for him!!!
It doesn't sound like Bob is interested in having Obama, or any other Democrat, campaign with him.
Obama’s coattails are poison!
Obama’s coattails are poison!
A conservative rarely losses when matched against a liberal. Isn’t it about time the Republican Party learns this lesson?
Another tidbit that polls can not predict is turnout. Conservative candidates enjoy maximum turnout.
And Scott Brown is going to beat the Dem in MA. The sun is shining a little brighter this morning.
But according to the press: Jesse Jackson Jr. in danger from a white Dem, Scott Brown on the ropes, Nebraska voters scared of tea party candidate, North Dakota a tossup... is it just me, or is the media really out of touch with reality this election cycle?
LMAO! Bob Kerrey, maybe you should run for Debra Winger’s seat again instead of Nebraska’s. You may have a shot at that one.
Does Kerrey live in Nebraska?
We needed Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell, not that either one of them deserved the negative press they received. The democrats and the media could only afford to trash one or two Senate candidates in 2010 without being too obviously partisan. This year, they may target Fischer unfairly, or they may go after one or two others instead, but we shouldn’t regret choosing a good candidate who would be a great Senator. Even if all she does is act as a lightning rod for the rabid left and absorb the funds they set aside for mudslinging, it’s still a job that someone has to do.
I sent Deb some money directly.
Next month, I’ll probably give some to SarahPAC and DeMint’s Senate Conservative fund.
all I can say is, YIPPEE!!!!!!!
