I told my Pastor to be ready to be thrown in jail for refusing to perform same-sex marriages. He said that it would never happen. I replied “just be ready.”

I told my pastor the same thing almost a decade ago. At the time he gently laughed and said something to the effect of "this is America, things like that can't happen here".
I reminded him of it again about a year ago and his eyes are wide open now. But I think the majority are still asleep.

I replied just be ready. As you should be ready to be thrown into surprise and dismay when you learn, as you just may, that it "would never happen" because he will ultimately decide not to refuse to perform the ceremonies.
I don't know him, but...just be ready.
