I told my Pastor to be ready to be thrown in jail for refusing to perform same-sex marriages. He said that it would never happen. I replied “just be ready.”As you should be ready to be thrown into surprise and dismay when you learn, as you just may, that it "would never happen" because he will ultimately decide not to refuse to perform the ceremonies.
I don't know him, but...just be ready.
He may have been slow to see the onslaught coming, but in his case I doubt he will bend when it hits. He has already been fired by two churches because he was unwilling to tolerate openly homosexual church officers, and from another for holding the line against heterosexual perverts. He's lost two homes, several years wages and his retirement for standing by his principles.
I'd add that his wife supported him 100% throughout, even when his decisions caused the family to be uprooted and cast adrift. She deserves as much credit as he does.
