That lady could sing ... still listen to her music from time to time.
Why is it, that today it seems like most women “yell” instead of sing? I fail to see any artistic or emotional motivation when I hear a woman “yelling” herself hoarse into a microphone.

A beautiful woman who very much loved Jesus. She became a professing Christian after her musical career afterwhich it was reported that she would no longer perform some of her more lurid songs.

I wasn't into the disco scene when it was at its height of popularity but I thought she did a good job on the cover version “MacArthur Park.”

I wasn't into the disco scene when it was at its height of popularity but I thought she did a good job on the cover version MacArthur Park. I put a CD with the original "MacArthur Park" in my car CD player, and said to my son "here's a song I used to be obsessed with when I was in high school."
I hit "Play," and in two seconds his eyes lit up. "Dumbledore!" he exclaimed.

Smart lady, made her money and got out.Apparently, she didn't to hang around to the point where her only remaining fans were the gays, like Cher. I remember back when they were boycotting her because of some perceived anti-gay remarks she made.

I’ll never forget hearing her sing, “Love To Love You Baby” on WLS while delivering the Bloomington Pantagraph in the snow and ice during the early morning hours on my bicycle.
I met her once when she lived in Hendersonville, TN. She was visiting her daughter, who lived a couple of doors down. She was a very elegant lady.
