WASHINGTON (AP) - U.S. Army leaders have begun to study the prospect of sending women soldiers to the service's prestigious Ranger school - another step in the effort to broaden opportunities for women in the military.

Gen. Raymond Odierno, Army chief of staff, says he's asked senior commanders to provide him with recommendations and a plan this summer.

Recommendation: Don't do it.

Plan: Get rid of every PC, equality-of-sexes, Muzzie-accommodating, homo-lovin’ social experimentation policy in DoD.

Did I mess anything?

The Navy brass pushed her through Pensacola even though she failed most or all of her qualifying tests, just to get a woman on active flight status in a F-14.

A female Navy Aviator who perished when she botched a carrier landing approach and then performed a manoeuvre that was contrary to training; this manoeuvre caused her aircraft to lose thrust on one of its two engines; she then fired the afterburner on remaining functional engine in an attempt to replace the lost thrust, and this action caused the aircraft to spin out of control. She ejected into the water and was killed instantly.

She had lots of firsts, however. Her last, final, first was a tough one to swallow. In a manner of speaking.

Looking at the Ranger fitness standards, there is likely no way to get significant numbers of women to pass current male standards. The minimum for pushups and 2mi run are past the 100% row on the female fitness charts. The Marine Corps found that only the top 10% of female Marines could do 6 pull-ups (the minimum passing number for Rangers)

She was an affirmative action “naval aviator” who was pushed to the carrier flight program so the girlies could build their “self-esteem”, and because she was unqualified, she got herself and her navigator killed.

Well, you know, the bad guys up in the mountains’ll give ‘em a pass as long as they try real hard.

Sheesh.

Rangerettes! Don’t think so.

You haven't seen the Kilgore College Rangerettes, have you?

Right now, only males who are in exceptional shape to start with even get selected for Ranger School. Of those, only about half graduate, and some of that number includes those who have been recycled.

I just don't see how it can be done without significantly altering the course or making radical exceptions for the females.

Now that the sodomites and lesbians are officially ordained, the Pentagon will never pass up an opportunity to direct the services towards humanist social alchemy and social engineering.

The Ranger sub-culture that ensures victory demands totalitarian mental and physical harshness to overcome their chaotic, barbaric, and brittle environments. The question is not whether women can meet some newly fabricated minimum set of qualifications, but whether they can join the few exceeding the expectations of accomplished combat infantrymen.

My son is a former Marine and my war was with the Navy in Vietnam. We both discourage anyone who asks about joining the military. Victory and the warrior ethic are no longer important values.

Of course.

The camel’s nose is already under the tent.

When the magnificent USMC went PC, I knew we were finished.

I have a friend who lost an engine at the end of his roll in a take-off from a flight deck. He managed the situation correctly, saving his life and his RIO’s life, but he wasn’t a worthless AA pilot.

I say any gal who wants to do that, who can physically qualify and who will take the buzz cut... best of luck to her. There is still the “chivalry” problem, though, in a coed deployment. Guys will take chances to protect the gals that they might forego for the sake of brothers.

You didn’t miss much. When the objective is equality then quality will fail at some point. When the objective is quality you will see a measure of equality where it is merited.
