OMAHA, Neb. - The Associated Press has projected Deb Fischer as the winner of the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate.
Most of the evening, Jon Bruning maintained a lead over Fischer; however, during the 9 p.m. hour, the lead switched in favor of Fischer.
Just under 6,000 votes separated the top two candidates when the Associated Press called the race.

I supported Gov Palin, when she was an unknown, but I think we should give a lot of credit to the Tea Party, they have been biting and scratching right along. So a combination of the two is a winning ticket.

It hard to know the background when you don’t live in the state and even then it can be hard to keep up. But we can always rely on the freepers to keep up and bring the real info forward! Then there’s the problem with remembering it all. ;)

You are right - with a concerted effort it can be pulled off and they did!! and not leaving it to only one to pull the weigh.

I’m with you - I want to hear a ‘how did that happen?’ while we/others have a ‘we know’ smile on our faces.

Right on! Fully agree. The combination of the philosophy of the Tea Party and Sarah Palin is a winner. May God guide the hand of the voters in November —— Obama be gone!

From Sarah tonight:
“As recently as a week ago, Deb Fischer was dismissed by the establishment. Why? Because she is not part of the good old boys permanent political class. The message from the people of Nebraska is simple and powerful: America is looking for real change in Washington, and commonsense conservatives like Deb Fischer represent that change. I applaud Moms like Deb Fischer who are bold enough to step up and run on a conservative platform to restore America and protect our childrens future. Congratulations to the people of Nebraska. As the Huskers fight song goes: The eyes of the land, upon every hand, are looking at you. Fight on for victory!”
