The ad is certainly gripping and emotional. It is also, however, completely wrong.
The company was shut down in 2001. Romney left Bain in 1999, long before the plant closing, to run Winter Olympics. Two years is an eternity in the business world. Blaming Romney for decisions made two years after the left the company is at best disingenuous.
However, there was a political power-player serving as a director of Bain at the time of the company's bankruptcy and layoffs--Jonathan Lavine. Lavine joined Bain in 1993. He is currently Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer. He is also a major bundler for Barack Obama, raising between $100-200k for the his reelection. While we don't know the specific role Lavine had in decisions regarding the bankrupt company, he certainly had more influence than someone who had left Bain two years before.
Perhaps Obama should use some of Lavine's donations to help the steelworkers featured in his ad.

Blaming Romney for events 2 years after he left? Makes perfect sense if you are a Dim. They are still blaming Bush for everything up to the DC earthquake.
The problem is there are so many lies from the media and fed to the media that we need a fielding rebuttal committee to imediatley address the lies before they finish thier sentence. There are still to many 3 second, I formed an opinion CNN, CNBC talking point imbisiles out there that just dont want to get ingaged and somehow feel they have a grasp of the issues they are being fed by the fruad and chief his criminal enterprise and the criminal state run media
As an alleged example of “ruthless capitalism” Bain got its share of enemies, and I’ve seen communications elsewhere from a jilted party who claimed to have gotten the short end of the stick during the Mitt years with only the minimum legal warning (and is now on a jihad against Mitt) — BUT is this truly the best that Democrats can do vis a vis Bain and Mitt? The political fact checkers are going to have a field day here. Desperation? A mere blindly enraged determination to throw whatever looks like mud at the GOP wall? Those poor poor Donks.

It's too bad that Dubya' will be deemed one of the greatest POTUS' ever only after he is gone because of the liberal feeding frenzy of trying to blame him for everything today.
Only after he is gone will the appreciation that will be shown for for him universally for his selfless actions to secure our safety and hammer terrorism globally be shown.
