However, it still needs to be defeated, because I am we cannot count on local prosecutors in the metro-sexual cities to enforce this upon the homosexual community as they would against the Christian right.

I agree, the left would use this law only one way, and that would be against heteros trying to make sure their child wasn’t dragged into a life of queerness. The same way the hate crime laws only work white against black and not black against white.
My husband made that exact point. He said there would be the usual double standard, one enforcement for heterosexuals, and another (non-enforcement) for homosexuals.
We have fair housing laws which prohibit discrimination. Yet I can bet money not one “homo-centered” appartment complex has been prosecuted for discriminatin in their advertising.
