Here's the first poll, from Gallup/USA Today, measuring the effect of Barack Obama's gay marriage endorsement on voters.
Gallup |
It has to be a little troubling that a quarter of Independents say they are less likely to vote for him now. It's also rather strange, considering this Gallup poll from this week that found that 57 percent of Independents think gay marriage should be legal.
Also, the endorsement does not appear, at least yet, to have had an overly energizing effect on Obama's Democratic base, with only 24 percent more likely to vote for him. Republicans showed a more passionate response, with 52 percent saying they would be less likely to vote for him.
Overall, though, gay marriage does not figure to be a major issue in the election, with 60 percent of those polled saying it would have no effect on their vote.
The poll does show, however, that 51 percent overall do approve of his endorsement. That runs in line with the 50 percent that said they supported it in the Gallup poll this week.

Obama's endorsement did not come without political risk, especially in key swing states and key demographics that propelled him to win the 2008 election.

“The internal polls Obama’s campaign are seeing must be even worse than what is being published today by Rasmussen”
You can only come to that conclusion after looking at the splinter groups he has been trying target. Single women, students, environmental groups and the gay vote.
A sure sign of weakness. They are scared in the White House.
“That is the only explanation for the calculated flip-flop on this issue by Obama”
Obama has nothing to gain from this. He is either a dumbass or he already concluded that he’ll lose the election and wants to go down in flames making a statement.
I have mixed feelings about the 24/7 MSN coverage of Obama’s gay moment. On one hand, there are real issues like the size of government, over-regulation, the deficit, etc. that should be news. On the other hand, everyone knows Barry’s on the dark side which is driving his poll numbers down.
>>Obama has nothing to gain from this. He is either a dumbass or he already concluded that hell lose the election and wants to go down in flames making a statement.<<
IMO.
Obama doesn’t care about votes because he is expecting that either
1. he will cheat to a win
2. he will buy a win
The announcement was made to get more cash from the Hollywood fundraiser and it worked. Obama, his communist friends, his Muslim pals, George Soros and his Chicago ilk are playing chess.
In the meantime, we are wondering which checker to move.
It’s CASH. He is going to buy the election. From The Blaze

THERE IS MORE TO THIS STORY:
1- Obama was planning this announcement for weeks, how else would he already have these items to go on the web.
2 The reporter for the interview was chosen because she was black and gay.
3 The Hollywood fundraiser jumped from $10 million to $15 million in the last two days before the party, same day as the announcement.
4 Obama campaign had fundraising e-mails ready to go out, one per day since then.
I have a feeling a lot of people are afraid to state their true opinions these days for fear of being label “homophobic”.
These numbers seem queer to me...?
Thye best and most accurate poll of all is the ballot box. Gay marriage loses almost every time (AZ being the sole exception, but it was subsequently reversed.)
I have to agree, over the past few weeks he’s done a number of apparently stupid things, guaranteed to lose votes, yet he just keeps on keepin’ on. In a way, it might be a good thing for us since a winning vote count from his Spanish company that is completely out of sync with what polls have indicated might finally shine some light on him that even the most liberal democrat couldn’t ignore.
More and more, I hear the refrain: ‘We won’t be able to vote ourselves out of this mess.’ Now that DHS has ordered 450 million rounds of .40 cal. JHP and all those bulletproof guard shacks I think even the government agrees and expects some push-back.
I don’t know whether to be glad or sad that I’m too old to be of any use in the upcoming festivities. I worry about my grandchildren though.
I sure hope the filthy lucre of a million bucks was worth it, Barry.
S-W-E-E-E-E-T...
Exactly.
2.) "Does President Obamas support for same-sex marriage make you more likely to vote for him, less likely to vote for him, or doesnt it make any difference?"
The Gallup poll data for this poll:
From the Gallup Poll, May 10, 2012 PDF file.
The below table which was derived via Excel Solver, and when the data is rounded to plus or minus 0.49% to a simple two digit number, it matches the above published Gallup poll data.
which yields a solution set for the absent Gallup poll political ID breakdown, now shown for Republican, Democrat and Independents as follows:

WOW. Great analysis on this pollaganda!
25% GOP and 36% Dem is a sample that is 10% skewed for Obama, and it is also an ‘Adult’ not ‘likely voter’ poll. This poll is biased towards making it look better for Obama than it really is.
I dont believe for a second the GOP “less likely” number, this is from people who were not going to vote for him anyway, but it is probable this will solidify GOP opposition. Likewise, the Democrat “more likely” is probably votes he would get any way.
The real clue is that the independent numbers are 2X in the less likely than more likely. 23% vs 10%.
Obama has lost independent voters and solidified GOP opposition, all so he could pander to the left wing social liberals he already has in his pocket. Wow, does any of us want that strategic brilliant mind (sarc alert) as our CinC???!?
“Right now the Obama crowd are frantically rushing to shore up the far-Left base as they know they are rapidly hemorrhaging the independents. They are going to need every work-shy, shiftless, no-account, socialist bum this November. “
Yeah, that’s what I think too. Total desperation to bring in Hollweird/homo money since no one else is donating, and he’s also trying to solidify his rapidly shrinking lib base too. I think he’s hemorrhaging blue collar voters (even some union ones), Jewish voters, and probably now quite a few Hispanic voters, which I was never convinced were that much in his corner to begin with. Plus, he’s got to be losing some Af-Am voters over the gay issue now. They might not vote Romney but some may sit out the election all together instead. And that could be a good thing for non-Presidential contests if a lot of dispirited former-Obama lovers just stay home altogether.
Why is the Democrat Party so obsessed with social issues?
Because they can’t run on economics now, can they?

Polls reflect a growing awareness of Mr. Obama’s incompetence and falsity.
Oh no. That was just a mistake. California still lets stupid people vote. Once the electorate has been properly screened things will be much better. /sarcasm>
