Because Communism always ushers in a cratering of food production, and they need to start preparing the sheeple for it now.
If socialism collapses the economy, good luck finding all the rare foods and diet supplements the health nuts take religiously. Balanced diet? Ha! They’ll be glad (and lucky) to eat gruel. I’m sure the state will enact price controls to keep food affordable. Good luck finding any, eh?
