A healthy lifestyle of proper diet, daily exercise & weight control is fine as long as it’s an individual’s choice.

And one doesn’t have to be a secularist. The Bible teaches that “your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit”.

However, I cringe whenever someone says, “I want to leave behind a good-looking corpse”. Ewwwww!!

The author mentioned the temple of the soul. But I think you’re all missing the point. no one here is questioning the making of prudent health decisions. We’re talking about the obsession with health and fitness that many people today exhibit.

The Bible does indeed say the body is the temple for the Holy Spirit. Now what do you think the Holy Spirit is concerned about, a low cholesterol count or avoiding sin? I know a lot of churches that spend a great deal of time, money, and effort on maintaining beautiful buildings, too. Like the Bible says, where your treasure is, that's where your heart will be, too. And, btw, that's an admonition to myself to focus on worldly things less and spiritual things more. May the Lord forgive me.
