Anybody know what old Sohale Siddiqi is doing these days?

Correct. Guy in post #10 IS Sohale Siddiqi (also known as Hal Siddiqi). Obama met him in Calif when Hal visited the Chandoo brothers, and later contacted him when Obama moved to NY to go to Columbia. They roomed together.

I got the name from the picture caption in the New York Times.

Of course as someone said “you can’t even believe the page numbers in the New York Times”
