Fox News Won't Fire Black Racist Commentator (Jehmu Greene)
Accuracy in Media ^ | Monday, May 7, 2012 | Cliff Kincaid

Posted on 05/07/2012 2:28:06 PM PDT by kristinn

Fox News contributor Jehmu Greene, a black feminist, says on her Twitter page that “love can build a bridge.” But racism, not love, was on display last Thursday when she called conservative Tucker Carlson a “bow-tying white boy.”

Greene, a Democratic Party operative who was the national director of Project Vote, a group with close ties to the corrupt ACORN organization, has not offered a public apology. There is no indication that her financial relationship with Fox News has suffered as a result of the racial outburst.

“Jehmu apologized to Tucker by phone after the segment,” Irena Briganti, Group Senior Vice President at FOX News Channel & FOX Business Network, tells Accuracy in Media.

This is apparently the end of the matter for Fox News.

Robert Lifson of American Thinker pointed out that if Tucker Carlson had ever called Louis Farrakhan “a bow-tying black boy,” he would be out of a job.

What’s more, Greene said on the air that she had not done anything wrong.

“Hey, hey, hey,” reacted Carlson, at the slur. “You can’t, wait. Whoa, whoa, whoa…You can use name calling all you like, but you’re ignoring the truth.”

“I didn’t call you a name,” replied Greene.

So calling somebody a “white boy” is acceptable to Greene.

As a Fox News Contributor, Greene is on the Fox News payroll and is paid to be a regular commentator on different programs.

SNIP

AIM had asked Fox News spokesperson Irena Briganti if Greene would be fired for making the racist remark. That is when Briganti informed us about the private apology, which is apparently supposed to suffice.

“Sadly, she did and eventually my daughter quit the team and their friendship fizzled.”

Unfortunately I think that is usually the fate of such friendships; there are many forces at work every day driving people apart along ethnic lines, and they’re fairly effective. One of my sons has a black friend at school (there are only about 10 black kids there, mainly from Africa), and I don’t like the idea that if they have a fight my son is in a different position than the black kid in terms of the racist label, punishment and such. It really is a shame that it even enters our minds today.

On the other hand, the kids know one of my friends that I watch soccer with on the weekends is black (he’s British - an Arsenal fan); they’ve met him at functions and don’t think it is unusual to be around them in an environment where there aren’t many.

My co-worker is already being shunned because some of our black co-workers heard her listening to Rush.

Yep—I happily pay for it, too. JimRob’s the man!

It’s a shame really, because one on one, blacks and whites get along great as we see in our kid’s friendships and even our own. Don’t know why that doesn’t play out on the larger scale.

“Don’t know why that doesn’t play out on the larger scale.”

150 year-old grievances against dead people can’t hold a candle to the current legalized discrimination caused by affirmative action; my children don’t deserve to be penalized for their ethnicity and/or gender, and will come to resent the beneficiaries as they age and become more aware of “the ways of the world”.

FOX has gotten so many on now that I turn off when I see them, that I mostly watch Lou Dobbs. He has had Jemuh on several times and she does the same thing on his show. Jemuh, Lamont Hill, the FOX Rachel Maddow— these I just turn off. No different than watching MSNBC when they are on

I tried to write them an email but had so much trouble trying to find an interested party to send it to that I gave up.

It is certainly frustrating. My son has not been accepted into medical school even though all his “numbers” indicate he should have been easily accepted.

I read an article which broke down the acceptance rates for med school and even though he is higher/better qualified based on GPA, the MCAT and such, his race and gender make it more difficult to get in. He has no “hook” for extra points.

It is systematic discrimination, but until the beneficiaries of affirmative action are the ones to decry it, it will remain in place.

This is a very hard subject for me because I grew up in a very racist town and know the effects it had on good people, both black and white.

I am just sad that there is such deep resentment making it nearly impossible to let go of past hurts and focus on each other as individuals rather than as a collective.

According to my sources, her private apology was “sorry if you can’t take a joke, cracker”.

her college-age daughter has graduated and moved out, and she’s leaning right fiscally now that her income tax bill has risen as a result of that (no dependents).

Let me guess...her name isn't Julia?

With me, it is mostly jsut weather. I have only 2 ways into New Orleans, but primarily only go 1 route, the free one across the spillway rather than the 3 or 4 dollar route across the Causeway. Usually if my route is hosed up big time, I either wait awhile or call my boss and tell him I am remoting in. Remoting in usually wins out, just in case you are curious.

Where I live there isn't much crime, and once you've heard the crime report in New Orleans, you can take it that more of the same has occurred for any given night's report.

“I am just sad that there is such deep resentment making it nearly impossible to let go of past hurts and focus on each other as individuals rather than as a collective.”

Legalized discrimination against whites will ensure the racial (and gender) animosity goes on infinitely; at this point I can’t take anyone who can “check a box” seriously, and couldn’t care less what happens to them - they’re allowed to have organizations to cope with their crises (real or imagined).

No, she’s now funding Julia (and doesn’t like it).

Now that election season is gearing up, we suddenly have a bunch of construction projects going on; apparently the “shovel-ready” projects were kept on ice until re-election time to give the illusion that Americans are back to work. I have a few ways to work, but have to make sure to avoid those places (there is little work being done; just a diverse workforce in helmets milling about).

When I see Jehmu’s upside down grin, I immediately reach for the remote. I do a better job of tolerating the other liberals on the network, but Jehmu is on her own level of liberal stupidity.

What bothers me a bvit more about Fox News is not that Liberal are on the channel expressing views. But that they have a radical ones, but weven more than that the shilling for Romney was the final straw. I rarelyw atch. Al though I tune in when need. Breaking News, to see Palin, to hear people I like. I occasionally record Fox and Friends, Cavuto, Megan Kelly or Red Eye. About it. Those were the efew shows I could stomach.
