One of my favorite Johnny Carson moments:

Johnny barging in on the live taping of CPO Sharkey to confront Don Rickles over a broken cigar box.

Classic!

He was much funnier than anyone on TV or in movies now. I also miss him. A true comedic genius. Loved the surprise on Julio Iglesias’ face when Johnny came on stage as Willie Nelson for “All the Girls I Loved Before”. Johnny actually sang that as well as old Willie.

Yes!

That is the only time I ever saw Rickles without a snappy comeback! He just stood there with his mouth open. I bet nobody else ever made that happen!

I saw that CPO Sharkey invasion either in first run or a best of. Fabulous. One of the few times that Rickles was speechless.

My favorite was when he was interviewing Arnold Palmer's wife and asked her if she did anything special before a tournament.

She replied, "I kiss his balls".

Carson responded, "I'll bet that makes his putter stand on end".
