He deserves more than an apology. To the cop, this was just another day at the office. It is just standard to haul people off to jail. Routine.

The officer should be arrested, strip searched, body cavity searched, “spread those but cheeks”. He should be PERSONALLY sued for his pension. He should be put in personal bankruptcy or lose his house. Then his buddies won’t be quite so quick next time and will take the time to actually do their job.

Sounds like an ignoramus police department to me. I wouldn’t call for so much revenge in kind as for a complete re-education on matters of allegedly bogus money. Plus a handsome settlement to the man who went through the hassle based on the bungle and a complete expungement of the arrest forthwith, with legal costs of that fully paid too. Now if that same PD did something like this a second time, I say get medieval on them.
