A waitress was caught skimming customers' credit cards at a Chili's restaurant in Coral Springs and police suspect there are more victims.
Germithe Geffrard, 23, was charged with possession of a scanning device, which she admitted to hiding in her apron and using as often as possible during each shift, police said.
She obtained about 50 credit card numbers while working at the restaurant at 1650 University Dr., Coral Springs Lt. Joe McHugh said Saturday.
Police investigated after several customers complained about the fraudulent activity taking place between February and April, he said.

The Pompano Beach woman said she would scan patrons' credit cards properly at the register and then remove her own electronic scanner from her apron and skim the cards there.
She had an unknown accomplice who would then collect the credit card information, police said.
More charges could be pending against Geffrard as the investigation continues, McHugh said.
In a company statement released to the Sun Sentinel, Chili's Grill and Bar said, "This was an isolated incident involving one employee. Chilis is cooperating fully with authorities on their investigation, and this food servers employment ended when we learned of this conduct.

How does Wings Plus compare to Frank & Teresa’s Anchor Bar or Duff’s?
The Wings Plus menu mentions margarine. Butter is used in this house.
The use of Frank’s is a plus.
The police are running arrest contests now?
(yes, I know I have a odd sense of humor)
I find it odd that the Mother’s Day contest was at the end of the sentence.
How was it related?
Not sure, but believe it's the feminine of Trayvon.
Where does one get a scanning device?
Where does one get a scanning device?

By the name alone, she’s probably Haitian. So cut her some slack. She probably didn’t get her fair share in earthquake assistance.
This is why I check my accounts online every day, even if I’m not using my debit or credit card.
Identity theft perpetrators should be given a life sentence in a high-security prison.
We have been sorting out multiple id thefts of my 93-year-old WWII veteran father. It has been a nightmare. There are obviously websites where the information is sold to others, as we have seen the gamut from simple opening of new credit cards to auto withdrawals from his checking account, and most recenting he is being victimized thru the electronic filing of an income tax return in his name, when he had not even finished his return.
Stealing a person’s id should be treated as seriously as kidnapping and hostage-taking while robbing a bank, which is pretty much what ID theft amounts to.
God help the person if I were to meet up with one of them.
