UN's correspondent on indigenous peoples urges government to act to combat 'racial discrimination' felt by Native Americans
A United Nations investigator probing discrimination against Native Americans has called on the US government to return some of the land stolen from Indian tribes as a step toward combatting continuing and systemic racial discrimination.
James Anaya, the UN special rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples, said no member of the US Congress would meet him as he investigated the part played by the government in the considerable difficulties faced by Indian tribes.
Anaya said that in nearly two weeks of visiting Indian reservations, indigenous communities in Alaska and Hawaii, and Native Americans now living in cities, he encountered people who suffered a history of dispossession of their lands and resources, the breakdown of their societies and "numerous instances of outright brutality, all grounded on racial discrimination".

1) A check for the present-day value of the scalps Indians took and the other lives that were lost.
2) A check for the present-day value of the welfare, handouts, and other benefits they have received during the past 100 years since Roosevelt's New Deal.
3) A check for the unfair business advantages each tribe has accured from the monopoly on gambling casinos, nationwide; this was a huge loss in opportunity cost to the rest of America. The checks would be debited from the personal bank accounts of each Native American who received this ill-gotten money.
4) Lastly, they would have to prove, in writing, why Native Americans were using the land of North America more wisely and more efficiently than the NOrthern Europeans who migrated here in the 15th through the 21st centuries. They would have to prove that it would have been more humane, from a cosmic perspective, to let 50 million Europeans die in their homelands while Indians used the great empty continent of North America without interruption to their nomadic lifestyle. Because essentially, that is the UN's thesis.

They need to take a number. I’m still waiting for that purple sparkly skillets farting unicorn Hussein promised me four years ago.
I want the UN to give back the land they currently occupy and the taxpayer money they’re stealing from us for it.
It was a gift from Nelson Rockefeller...
The UN needs to give back all the money that the US ever gave them.
The UN can go F themselves. I can just see some blue-helmeted low level army officer guy from a 3rd world country landing somewhere in Western Pennsylvania, with that proclamation demanding some farmer turn over his land. Later I can see a new trophy, including a blue helmet on top, mounted above a fireplace, replacing the Buck shot while hunting some years earlier.
We outta put the UN on a reservation.
And some actually WANT to legalize drugs....
Did he pay the current expenses too?
Hmmmm. I agree. What our great, great, great grandfathers did has been repayed....in full. I live in Western Oklahoma. The Indians get free houses, free medical, free car plates (with their tribe's name), free food, free education at the university of their choice....and a check from the local casino. I have Indians wanting to sell their monthly food allotment, because a family of 10 couldn't possibly eat what the free truck, provided by tax payers, gives them. By the way, the 10 lb. block of cheese is excellent. Worth the $5.00 my Indian neighbor sells it to me for......and it lasts me about a year....
Cut of their welfare and make them pay taxes on thier casinos.
Has about as much credibility as Hitler assigning Joseph Goebbels to lead a study proving that Nazis were not racist.
Anyone that thinks -anyone- at the UN cares about American Indians.. is on dumboral..
Probably eye rolling and drooling..
If he/she comes up to you and starts talking..
Slowly.. move away and do not turn your back on him/her..
Yeah, just as soon as the UN persudes China to give Tibet back to the Tibetans.
Who gets Elizabeth Warren under this plan? Could be a deal breaker.
No wonder we're so far in debt
