Failed plot to blow up Ohio bridge highlights potential 'Occupy' link to violence

The 'Occupy' movement is scrambling to distance itself from five men charged with plotting to blow up a bridge near Cleveland, but authorities have long been concerned about the group's potential to inspire violence.

Aside from some vandalism and skirmishes with police, notably in Seattle and Oakland, the movement has largely stuck to its nonviolent approach. But the angry rhetoric of 'Occupy' leaders has long concerned authorities, and an internal Department of Homeland Security memo leaked earlier this year warned that fringe members could be driven to acts of terror, such as the thwarted plot to blow up a busy commuter bridge on May Day.

"I think most people involved with the Occupy Movement are innocent, but it creates an environment that encourages criminal behavior," said Rep. Peter King, (R-N.Y.), who heads the House Committee on Homeland Security. "What they [occupiers] do is create a climate for wackos to carry out their plans."

The case makes an internal Department of Homeland Security report released by WikiLeaks in October seem prophetic. The report, entitled "Special Coverage: Occupy Wall Street," warned that the movement's mantra of peaceful protest would not preclude acts of violence taken up in its name.

It looks like EVERY document Obama would want released has been released by wikileaks during his term.

It will take years to discover the damage inflicted by this administration.

I would pull out my tin foil ‘beret’ and say that: Gov’t would want or allow the OWS type protesters to cause problems in order to lead to more Gov’t and control of the sheep.

Make no mistake, the ‘occupy’ folks will find a way to interfere with the next Presidential election... somehow!

The MSM will certainly imply that is it about ‘occuppiers’...as if they in any way represent America.

The majority of clean-living, hard working, taxpaying and honest Americans are the enemy now.

highlights potential 'Occupy' link to violence

Potential? Are you kidding me? Potential?! Almost every single one of the OWS protests are marked by violence and property destruction on the part of the protesters, and the rhetoric from many of its leaders and supporters consistently incites violence.

I cannot stand tepid, pussy-footing reporting. Its even worse when it comes from a supposedly half-decent news organization like Fox.

The liberals have told us that it’s the Tea Party people who are racist, violent, dangerous. Whereas the Occupy people are speaking to important issues, etc.

Would love to see a comparison about certain things.

For example, compare the number of assualts, including sex assaults, at Occupy events vs. Tea Party events.

Compare the number of arrests at Occupy events vs. Tea Party events.

Compare the number of public nudity events, public sex activity, at Occupy events vs. Tea Party events.

Compare the number of people relieving themselves in public, even on police cars, at Occupy events vs. Tea Party events.

Compare the amounts of vandalism and other violence at Occupy events vs. Tea Party events.

Compare the volume of garbage and trash to be cleaned up by someone else at Occupy events vs. Tea Party events.

Compare the numbers and percentages of people who actually work for a living at Occupy events vs. Tea Party events.

Question: Has the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) classified the OWS crowd as domestic terrorists so DHS Secretary Napolitano can know what to think? SLPC is apparently doing her thinking for this mind numbed robot.
