Several insiders interviewed for this story said former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will present a unique challenge to Romneys team: Will they give her a prime spot to satisfy her fans, or reduce her role because of her polarizing nature?
You want people to generate interest and passion, said one Republican who has organized conventions before and who, like others, didnt want to be named. Sarah Palin goes to a very small segment, relatively speaking, of the Republican Party. And youre trying to put together a rainbow coalition. (Democrats faced a similar situation in 1992, when then-Gov. Bob Casey of Pennsylvania was denied a speaking role, he believed, because he opposes abortion rights.)

Oops, found it, sorry to have bothered you!
Sarah Palin along with the rest of us “Tea Party Patriots” should just blow off this year’s presidential race and concentrate on electing enough right minded congressmen and senators to thwart whoever sits in the white house. We need to become a major thorn in the side of the entire DC establishment. We need to set the agenda.
Agreed.
But not enough.
Right now, and right here, is the time. Romney seems poised to win the nomination.
Nobody will like Romney, by the time he’s been torn apart by the (mysteriously all of a sudden “opposition” press) which will appear the day he’s elected.
He’ll be more damaged than George W Bush.
Let’s not spend the next four years, frustrated by the MSM. Rather, let’s start DAY ONE, to become the GOP’s very own loyal opposition.
Get Romney elected. By all means. Because Obama is a dog-eating communist, who is trying to destroy America.
However once Obama’s out - the very second the results of November’s election are announced: screw Romney and start at that moment to work to DECIMATE Romney in the public eye, every day. In every way. Take it to Romney and defeat him RESOUNDINGLY for the GOP primary in 2016.
First things first though:
Obama has gotta go.
Palin 2016.
I remain praying for Divine Intervention.
Nothing is set in cement.
Romney is not the certified nominee.
A lot can happen in the coming months before this convention.
You said exactly what I think and wanted to say.
I honestly do not care. This is the first year I have absolutely no interested in the Republican convention. I won’t be watching.
I expect Obama will lose. I agree that our enemy then becomes the Romney led GOP which is why we need the good TP people in the congresses to do the heavy lifting the next four years. I also agree that we begin immediately to challenge Romney in the 2016 elections, hopefully with Sarah Palin. The unfortunate thing about a Romney administration is that they will not have the intestinal fortitude to really take on reforming and downsizing government. It really makes me mad because after the disaster that is the Obama years, we had a golden opportunity to make real headway. Especially following the 2010 victory which the GOP-E squandered with their arrogance and elitism.
“Left to me, I’d rather she NOT speak at this charade, but let them go ahead and snub her and watch the enthusiasm gap.”
Same here.
To speak at the convention is tacit support of Mittens and his agenda.
If she endorses she will get to speak. This article is just one person’s opinion who is stirring the pot.
No, I know Vizzini said that. I was thinking in terms of what Inigo said to Vizzini. As in, I think it’s quite conceivable that these guys might not let her speak.
God bless and Keep you.
We will continue to pray.
The decision had better be hers and only hers.
The decision had better be hers and only hers.
If the Romney doesn't have anybody who represents CommonSense Americans, i.e. TEA Party, well then I assume Romney DOES NOT WANT MY VOTE. Christy is barely acceptable. Eff Coulter and Susan Collins is a disgrace. FUMR if this is the line-up.
To date Romney has not impressed me.
I just can’t accept that Romney will be the R nominee.
Maybe four years from now, if Zero decides to have an election.
None of his rivals could match his money or come anywhere close, so he successfully smeared them with over $45 Million in vicious attack ads, that voters claim to hate.
Provided he’s certified, he won’t need or get my vote regardless. The expert pundits, like know-it-all-Rove have already said the election will come down to a handful of states, and mine is not one of ‘em.
I happen to think the experts could be all wet. I think Romney might have a problem in the South, unless he tags a very appealing Christian conservative to run with him.
One more reason to stay home this November.
A Romney vote is already out of the question. If Palin gets buried at the GOP convention by Romney and the liberals, I won’t even bother going to the polls to vote for the down ticket candidates. Screw them all.
