SAN FRANCISCO: Double whammy! City warns store after Occupy protestors smash windows
SFGate: City Insider ^ | 5/3/12 | John Coté

To the folks at Weston Wear, it was like getting salt rubbed in their wound.

The day after a marauding band of Occupy protestors smashed the Valencia Street clothing store’s windows, the owners got another jolt – a city citation notice for having graffiti on the plywood they had put up over the vandalized windows.

“It was just a head scratcher to us,” said Bridget Moore, the store manager. “It seemed there was no thought why we had a bunch of plywood up.”

The store’s four windows were smashed in the Monday night protest – ostensibly held over income inequality – and Weston Wear had them boarded up later that night. The next morning, Moore said, she discovered a small graffiti tag on the plywood.

. . .

Moore said that Tuesday afternoon, less than 24 hours after the protest turned violent, she found a city notice of citation taped on the plywood saying they had 30 days to remove the graffiti or face an escalating $500 fine.

Any really concerned store owners need to move out of that craphole called Oakland. Whining gets no sympathy from me.

Why anyone continues to try and do business in San Francisco these days is beyond me.

I don’t know how plainer the city can make it to the business owners, that they are not wanted.

Just another reason why California has been rated as the worst state to do business for the 8th year in a row.

There is nothing the state or local gov’ts do to encourage businesses. Unbelievable!

Photobucket

Those at Weston Wear need to generate a game plan and defend their rights to live and prosper and change what comes out of the San Fransisco government or get the hell out of bizzaro land and move somewhere sane and be happy forever after.

[ Well my house got broken into today and I have to get a permit before replacing the front door, should have the permit in two weeks. ]

Seriously? You need a permit to replace broken property? Where the hell do you live? Nazi germany?

I sughgest the following replacement: http://www.homedepot.com/Doors-Windows-Security-Doors/h_d1/N-5yc1vZbvpt/R-202327072/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051&superSkuId=202933680

They look pretty nice and unlike a screen door you can have it locked while you sleep and door behind it open to aloow cool air to flow in without compromising security.

Well, you don't expect them to survive on the scraps they get via taxes do you?

Seems I can't get to these threads fast enough to post: "Move out of California" anymore.

I'm about a dozen posts late.

There is simply something really weird and unhealthy living in a place where it neither snows or freezes. May be good for fruits and nuts but not so good for the long term mental health of Europeans whose brains evolved in cold dark climates. California is one strange place.

They’ll find freedom & prosperity in San Antonio that they couldn’t even imagine in San Jose.

How does the city/town even know about it to require a permit? The police report is followed up by the city/town?

Nice how we all have quietly become wards of the state and criminals if we take care of ourselves...
