With GOP nomination assured, Mitt Romney shifts to the center (The Etch a Sketch gets shaken)

Mitt Romney is shifting to the center to attract important voting blocs that he may have alienated in the bruising Republican presidential primary.

Romney has recently sought to ingratiate himself with voters in industry-heavy Ohio, women, Hispanics and college students by softening his tone on a range of issues.

Whatever Nixon said the record shows he held the party base and peeled off a faction from the Democrats.

He hasn't wrapped up enough delegates, and he could always drop out at any time.

There's precedent for that.

Romney is not wanted; never will be; and even he can't pretend for very long that he is.

Guy doesn't even know any real Republicans ~ people can sense that in him.

This is a race to the bottom with Obama on one side and Romney the loser on the other side. Could be the lowest voter turnout for Presidential votes in the last century.

“Supposed to” according to whom? All of the Republican elites and most of the mainstream conservative media (MSCM?) said were supposed to like Romney.

Liking a candidate doesn’t mean you agree with 100% of what they say. Newt was someone any conservative could agree with at least 90% of the time. His endorsement of Romney is part of the 10% where we might not agree with him.

The maximum contribution allowed by law per election to a Federal candidate is $2,500.

The amounts of money it takes to run make it so. This is a huge country.

Are you saying FR is ready to through the Supreme Court over to radicals? Here lies the battleground. In THEIR control ALL other bets are off.

wiki:

After Stevens announced his retirement, an anonymous White House official said that about ten people were under consideration.[35] The leading contenders to replace Stevens were said to include Seventh Circuit Judge Diane Pamela Wood and Solicitor General Elena Kagan, both of whom were interviewed for the David Souter vacancy, and D.C. Circuit Judge Merrick B. Garland, who was also considered for the Souter vacancy.[35] Others mentioned include Ninth Circuit Judge Sidney Runyan Thomas, former Georgia Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears, Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.[38]

Kagan, 50, the solicitor general named to replace outgoing liberal Justice John Paul Stevens, would not immediately alter the ideological balance of the bench. But her addition would almost certainly provide a lasting, liberal presence, and administration officials hope she would, in the words of one, “start to move the court into a different posture and profile.”

Hell no! Nor are we willing to turn it over to an abortionist/homosexualist progressive who has a record of appointing liberal judges.

I don’t think so. Vote straight conservative for every office in the land. Take over as many local and state governments that we possibly can. Re-assert our ninth and tenth amendment rights and return the real political power to the states and the people. Cut the feds off at the knees. Build our conservative majority in the house. Retake the senate. If Romney wins the presidency, hold his feet to the fire. If Obama wins, he’ll be isolated with no congressional support and will become even more desperate and will commit ever more unconstitutional criminal acts, so we impeach and remove his Marxist, treasonous, usurping ass. And his co-conspirator in crime, Joe Biden, too. We also start impeaching treasonous, usurping cabinet and civil officers AND JUDGES!!

I am honored to be the nominee of the Constitution Party for the 2012 election.

WOW! V.H.G. Jr. is on FR?!

Sir, you are high on my list to vote for this November. I like your record. Like Reagan, the Democrat Party left you, did a U-turn, and sped off down the highway to hell. Thanks for keeping your oath to protect & defend the Constitution.
