Though he has yet to appear, Israel's long-awaited Redeemer is very much in the news these days.
From the Sydney Morning Herald down under to the Vancouver Sun up yonder, headlines around the world trumpeted former Shin Bet director Yuval Diskin's charge on Friday that Israel's "messianic" leadership is misleading the public on Iran.
Speaking at a public forum in Kfar Saba, Diskin insisted that an Israeli strike against the Ayatollahs' nuclear installations would not halt Iran's drive to obtain atomic weapons.
He lambasted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, attacking them personally and declaring in no uncertain terms that, "I don't believe in the prime minister or the defense minister. I really don't believe in a leadership that makes decisions out of messianic feelings."
Referring to them dismissively as "our two messiahs", Diskin added that "I'm telling you, I've seen them from up close, and they're not messiahs."

BTW, I got yesterday "The Harbinger" by Jonathan Cahn. This is the first time I've been on-line since I got the book. I would strongly recommend it to anybody who believes in Bible prophecy.
“Who’s afraid of Messiah?” Those that do evil in His name.
LOVE the way this is worded...
“...headlines around the world trumpeted...”
6th, possibly?
Slight correction....
Though he has yet to appear again, Israel's long-awaited Redeemer...
The first time, he came as a shepherd for his sheep. The next time, he comes as King and Judge.
A very important correction. I looked at this post just be sure someone did correct it.
Pretty good?
Amen! Come soon Lord Jesus!
The sixth trumpet? I suppose it could be. People pooh-pooh Revelation and many refuse to even read it; but John was doing the best he could to describe the indescribable things he saw in his vision. With all the HORRIBLE things that have already come upon the earth since Christ ascended, we do well to read and heed.
It puzzles me how folks cannot see the Messiah throughout the bible...old and new.
Fulfillment of prophecy to date is absolutely stunning.
The book? better than good. While it is fiction, the link between 9/11 and Isaiah 9:10 is more than intriguing. You just have to read it!
Thanx for the recommendation.
Father Almighty, through the power of your most blessed Spirit, please help us prepare for the day Jesus returns.
Come Lord Jesus. Make right what sin has made so wrong and finally cast the evil one, his fallen angels, concubine and minions into their dungeon...forever! Amen Amen!
Many people like to talk about the Messiah.
Very, very few actually want to meet him.
“Three times daily, Jews appeal to the Creator to send the Messiah. In the Amida prayer, we say, “May the offshoot of your servant David soon flower . . . for we await Your salvation all day.”
As Yehuda Liebes has shown, “for we await Your ‘salvation’ (Yeshuah) all day”
is really a compromise made in the first and second centuries, so that Jews who believed in “Yeshua” could obliquely refer to the one they believed was the messiah.
(excerpt from an article discussing this):
“The article scrutinizes the closing words of one of the blessings in the Shemoneh Esreh (18 Benedictions) prayer (”Et tzemah David avdekha mehera tazmiah, vekarno tarum biyeshuatekha, ki liyshuatekha kivinu kol hayom. Baruch atah Hashem, matzmiah keren Yeshu’a” - “Speedily cause the offspring of thy servant David to flourish, and let his glory be exalted by thy help, for we hope for thy deliverance all day. Blessed art thou, O Lord, who causest salvation to flourish”).
“Liebes argued that, logically, the blessing should have concluded with the words “matzmiah keren le’David” (”who causest David to flourish”) but instead of “David” it says “Yeshu’a” - an allusion to Jesus, according to his interpretation.
“Liebes: “There is evidence that this wording [matzmiah keren le’David] is the original and that it changed during the time when there was not yet a total disconnection between the Jewish-Christian sect and the Israelite religion. It appears that it was a Christian-Jew who chose to replace ‘David’ with ‘Yeshu’a,’ so that it would be possible, without forcing it, to also allude to the figure of Jesus.”
I’m looking forward to meeting Him!
Amen. Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ . . Amen.
So our Jewish brothers and sisters do indeed see the Christ in the prophecies? Cool.
Thanx for that.
