Lilia Luciano, a Miami-based NBC News correspondent, is no longer working for the network, TVNewser has learned.
Luciano last reported for NBC News March 31. Until that point, she had been reporting mainly on the Trayvon Martin story.
Sources tell TVNewser Luciano’s dismissal came after an investigation which also led to the firing of a seasoned NBC News producer over a similar, misleading edit.
In a story for the “Today” show on March 20, Luciano used part of the George Zimmerman 911 call in which an entire phrase (italicized below) was taken from a later part of the conversation:
Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good or on drugs or something. He’s got his hand in his waistband. And he’s a black male. Dispatcher: Are you following him? Zimmerman: Yeah. Dispatcher: Okay, we don’t need you to do that.

They can’t even agree how to “enhance” the audio.
If this keeps up, expect NBC to throw it’s remaining editorial weight behind tort reform. Either that, or change the network name to ZBC. (Zimmerman Broadcasting Corp.)

She has learned at a young age the lesson that you can do your bosses bidding and he will hang you out to dry, if needed.
You need to learn at a young age that you can be fired for doing the right thing or be fired for being a dumbass tool. It is better to go for the “right thing” category.
NBC News liked to pride itself on how “Fair” it was and several CEOs and VP’s have stated that even if NBC did own MSNBC, which they acknowledge leans Left, they had set up a wall between MSNBC’s opinions and commentaries and NBCs factual reporting.
They lied.
NBC=MSNBC
MSNBC=NBC

She’d come 18 months ago from Univision, the White Hispanic network, to NBC, the Unithink network.
Zimmerman needs to sue.
When it’s over, NBC should become ZBC.
It appears most if not all the firings are of regional or local staff not the folks in NYC
