I am reminded of the times my elderly mother and I had to drive through the most dangerous sections of D.C. for daily visits to see my father, who at that time was in the VA hospital. Many times, she drove herself. Because of the Cadillac she owned, many of the local denizens would smile, point, shout out, and wave, but nobody ever approached the vehicle, showed any disrespect, or gave her any trouble. Despite the violent crime, poverty, rampant drug and alcohol abuse in the neighborhoods immediately surrounding the VA hospital, there still remained a modicum of respect for veterans, their wives, and family. That was long before the current manufactured Afro-Marxist rage sweeping the country. I have absolutely no doubt today she would be dragged from the vehicle, and beaten to death.
