Fingering Zimmerman: Payback for the Sanford Police?
American Thinker ^ | May 1, 2012 | Jeff Lipkes

Posted on 05/01/2012 12:03:32 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The shooting of Trayvon Martin went viral after Tracy Martin, Travyon's father, approached civil rights lawyer Benjamin Crump, who in turn enlisted the Orlando publicist Ryan Julison.

But why did Martin senior contact the lawyer? Had he been told simply that his son had attacked a man who turned out to be armed, he might not have pursued the case. But he had been led to believe that manslaughter charges were about to be filed against the shooter. When this didn't happen, he naturally felt aggrieved, and sought "justice for Trayvon."©

It was lead investigator Chris Serino who gave Martin the impression that charges were imminent. The story of what Martin was told comes from Martin himself. Serino has never spoken with the media. Martin's recollection seems credible, though he was less than candid about his son's suspension, telling the press that it was because Trayvon had been in an unauthorized area. His son had been suspended once for this, but he'd been suspended twice after that on more serious grounds. Reversing himself and attributing Zimmerman's screams to his son also does not do Tracy Martin credit.

According to Martin, Serino said three things about the minutes before the shooting:

1. George Zimmerman was following Trayvon Martin.

2. There was a brief conversation at Zimmerman's truck. George was inside the vehicle. Martin asked him why he was following him, and Zimmerman said he wasn't.

3. Zimmerman exited the truck and started walking between the two rows of townhouses. Martin, hiding behind a building, surprised Zimmerman and asked, "What's your problem, homes?" When the watch captain denied he had a problem and reached for his cell, Martin hit him....

Damn right it’s interesting. If Cerino is to believed, then by his account Martin committed a series of crimes, trespassing (for hiding behind someone’s house), assault, and unlawful restraint for keeping Zimmerman from summoning assistance and holding him down.

Good shoot. How this ever got indicted is a crime in itself.

The bigger the magnifying glass on this case the better chance for justice. I smell too many “dogs” in this case.

Zimmerman was on another call the media has played in which he said he did not want to get too close to the perp following him so it was not his habit to confront the people he called about. Interesting take on why things may have transpired regarding Zimmerman’s past activism and how it relates to the handling of this case.

The police did nothing wrong. Followed the law to the letter.

Zimmerman killed Martin. No doubt. He is being a man and taking responsibility. For having the weapon, and for it discharging during a struggle. I have little doubt that Martin pulled on the gun or reached for the trigger, and being young and dumb didn’t think about the fact that the gun was pointing at his own chest. It is sad he had to die that way, but he took that path. He could have made a better choice. That still does not take away the feeling that, although not your fault, you killed someone. Zimmerman apologized to the Martins. Called ‘ill-advised’ timing wise, Zimmerman felt it moral and responsible.

The police and prosecutor let Zimmerman go. Everything was fine. Everyone understood pretty much what happened, even Martin’s parents.

THEN, about a month later, suddenly it’s headline news. Someone fed this incident to someone who fed it to someone else until it got to our ruling masters, and they proceeded to start dancing on the coffin of Trayvon.

National politics and the national media got involved, and everything went to hell from there.

How they got involved is not even the issue. That the usual slimebags jumped on it, and that they jumped before looking is. They are pretty desperate.

I would agree....everything the cops did...was legit. Zimmerman might be guilty of something....maybe 2nd degree manslaughter at best.

But here’s another thing I can observe out of this whole mess. There are at least 5k Trayvon-characters in Florida....on the verge of going from punk-teenager to hoodlum. Breaking in and robbing someone isn’t a big deal. Assaulting someone...is a talent they are developing. At seventeen, they are doing some type of drug almost daily. Parents have lost track of their kids and basically given up by the teenage years. Some of kids will end up in jail. Some will make it into their 30’s before going to jail. Some will be laying six feet under. It’s all a process.

If true, some of the more crucial facts are beginning to surface. I wonder if those detective wannabes are honest enough to admit to their rushes to judgement.

For those with a strong interest in this case, I recommend:

(1) theconservativetreehouse.com

(2) wagist.com

These two sites have assembled amazing archives on this case.

Photos, maps, time lines, and dozens of quotes and details that have not been published by the national press.

“Tree House” has highly detailed information on how and when the Trayvon Martin legal and publicity team were assembled.

“Tree House” also has a direct quote from the Lead Detective saying he NEVER argued for a manslaughter charge against Zimmerman.

Read the entire American Thinker article. They may have done nothing wrong investigating Zimmerman but it would appear that their communication with Tracy Martin left out some important incriminating information regarding Trayvon Martin. Or perhaps Tracy Martin is the one suppressing information now in his version of what Serino told him???

THat’s the most likely scenario.

Too bad one can’t be brought up on perjury for race-baiting lying to the press.

The excerpts here miss the most important part of the article.

Zimmerman had intervened on behalf of a black victim of a police officer’s son. The son had attacked the black man but because his father was LEO, got away with it. Zimmerman distributed flyers in the black community.

Therefore it’s possible that the police misled Tracy Martin, implied that Zimmerman was going to be arrested (after all, Zimmerman’s a trouble-maker in the eyes of LEO), in order to get back at Zimmerman. It backfired (or perhaps it was Serino’s intention that it backfire) when the prosecutor refused to charge Zimmerman and it became a race issue nationally.

BINGO!

I’m just south of the City of Sanford. This is the first thing that came to mind giving the circumstances of the delayed arrest.

Follow the money. The Martin family could not sue for wrongful death and collect any funds if lying (sic) dogs were not disturbed.

This makes no sense. Zimmerman had called the police and expected an officer shortly. Why would he provoke a fight with the suspicious guy? It's a pretty good assumption that he hoped only to be able to give the cop detailed information about Martin's whereabouts. He was trying to be a Boy Scout. He didn't want to have to shrug his shoulders when the patrol car pulled up, as he'd had to do the previous time he'd called the police about a suspicious stranger.

The more this case is looked at, the more obvious it becomes that it's political... egged on by race hucksters.

The American Thinker article is wrong on this one point. Serino has communicated with the media. Roughly 3 weeks after the shooting he said the investigation results were consistent with Zimmerman's version of the event.
