Most of you know Id rather post photos of my family and write about Alaska than talk about politics. But after reading and watching some recent commentary, I cant help myself.
The chattering class is talking endlessly about Mitt Romneys choice of a Vice Presidential running mate. Will he choose a Governor? A Senator? A Congressman? There are many good options for Governor Romney and all of them have already been dissected in the media with a list of pros and cons beside their names. One is too northern, another is too boring, another is too white. Ive lived through the scrutiny the family will endure, and it can be a nightmare.
I dont pretend to know the best pick for Governor Romney. But theres one theme that keeps coming up, and its ridiculous: that Governor Romney should avoid Senator McCains mistake in his Vice Presidential running mate decision.

Me Too.
Ditto! She is a very good speaker, much better than Petunia McCain.
Romney should pick a woman and someone that complements his beliefs... That would be Hillary Clinton then .. his best match...
Well Bristol.
I hope your Mom telll Romney she isn’t available.
She doesn’t need to assiciated with another loser.
Nicely done, Bristol Palin. You’re right, Sarah Palin would be a tough act to follow.
Ouch! That will leave a mark.
I nominate Dick Cheney. With a new heart every few decades he could be the permanent Republican vice president.
After all Sarah Palin is a tough act to follow.
You..Betcha'!
How is the “chattering class” defined?
Romney is in a real bad situation. He really needs someone who won’t outshine him as a running mate. That severely limits his options.
I’m thinking Pawlenty at this point.
Ha! Like Romney would ever even consider someone with such solid credentials as Palin... she was the most popular governor in the country with 80% approval, passed major anti-corruption reforms, lit a fire under the oil companies in pushing for energy independence, left her state with a $10-12 billion surplus, and routinely got crowds of tens of thousands during the election.
No, Romney and the GOP don’t want anything like that again! Better some establishment hack, who won’t upset the lefty media’s apple-cart. Have to please them. Can’t have the elitist coastal lib ruling-class get all upset at the potential of grassroots mid-America standing up and rebelling against their power.
I assumed the reason we don’t talk about Sarah Palin for VP is that she already said she had no interest in being a VP pick. Of course, that doesn’t stop people from mentioning Rubio every other day, but that’s more because we need to win Florida; it’s not like Alaska is going to go Democrat.
Come on..my candidate was gone after Iowa, but we need to get behind Romney and elect him. I think if we don't -- my tagline will come true.
Is Romney my ideal choice?? HELL NO, but I know if we don't get behind ROMNEY, we will lose...and I'm not just saying lose the 2012 election...but our RIGHTS and the CONSTITUTION!!!
If we elect TEA PARTY MEMBERS for the house and SENATE, we can keep ROMNEY from raising TAXES and helping OBAMACARE stay around. We need to get the F'ing MARXIST out of the White House!!
Seems she’s got some brains to go with her beauty. Anyone know what she is doing with her time now?
WTG Bristol!!!
ROTFLMAO!!! Best. Nic. Ever.
The left still fears and loathes her. Why else would they spend so much time and effort giving the "Goldstein Two-Minute Hate" treatment.
Me too, Bristol!!! Your mom was the reason I voted for the ticket the last time. If McCain’s choice for a VP was a mistake then by God, we need more like it.
Enough with the media morons.
