Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is known for playing around with all kinds of mobile tech, even if it competes with iOS devices.
Wozniak recently bought Nokia's new Lumia 900 Windows Phone, and shared some of his thoughts on Microsoft's Mobile platform in a podcast interview with The Report. (The Verge first picked up the interview).
Overall, Wozniak says he prefers the look and feel of Windows Phone apps over Android and iPhone apps. He also likes Windows Phone better overall than Android.
We had similar feelings towards Windows Phone apps when we reviewed the Lumia 900. Many apps such as Evernote, Spotify, Foursquare, and Facebook look a lot better than their Android and iPhone counterparts.
Here are a few key quotes from Woz's interview:
"I definitely favor the Windows 7 phone over Android." "[Windows Phone apps are] much more beautiful than the same apps on Android and iPhone" "[Windows Phone] is more beautiful than the other platforms" "[I feel like] I'm more with a friend than with a tool."

As long as Microsoft keeps doing what it is doing in the arena of phones, it could very well be a contender.
Next time I see him I’ll let him know what you said...
interesting
maybe he’s right, who knows. all i know is work too much with windows to want it on my phone.
Their unlimited data plan (for surfing the web, media, etc.) is very expensive.
My youngest son and Mrs p6 just got Android smart phones when we re-upped the family plan on T-Mobile and my oldest son opted for a Windows phone. I don’t know the makes or models but so far the Windows phone looks better and is easier to use.

Friend of mine got one recently.
Worst user interface I’ve ever seen.
When I first got the phone, I didn’t like the tile system. system thought it was ugly.
But now I don’t mind it a bit.
Students asked me yesterday if I still had a flip phone, and they laughed. Five years ago, students laughed because i didn't have a flip phone. Go figure.
I ditched my iPhone for the Windows phone and have been a fan ever since. IMO, the Windows phone is superior to the iPhone in every category, save one—quantity of Apps. Note I said quantity, not quality. But, Microsoft is reportedly paying incentives to encourage more cross platform development, so they should gain ground there.
IMO, the UI is crisp, responsive, intelligent and robust. I’ve had nary a crash at all on my Nokia Lumia. The integrated music service (Zune) and Xbox Live for games blows away the iPhone.
What specifically did you dislike?
Next time you see him? Just roll over. You’re sharing the same pillow aren’t you?

It's not just the Lumia, and it's not just AT&T.
It's EVERY carrier, and EVERY smart phone. Don't take offense at all when I say that you must not have been shopping for a smart phone in the last few years.
What truly chaps my hide about the carriers (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, et al) is that ANY such device must have its own data plan. IOW, as a Verizon customer, I have a smart phone (Motorola Droid; Android OS) with a data plan. Fine. Now, if I go and buy a tablet with wi-fi and 3G or 4G capability, yet ANOTHER data plan if I choose to avail myself of the 3G or 4G capability.
It's a ripoff, and it's high time someone offers an all-encompassing data plan tied to the USER, not the device(s).
Woz has quirky taste.
A privilege of genius.
Nahh, just the same valley.
When will that be and in what context?
The more competition the better. I was looking for a third phone which is NOT Iphone nor Droid. Especially I hate Droid and anything Google.
Beats me. I’ve been in Silicon Valley for 32 years. I happened to bump into him exactly once in a restaurant in all that time.
I have a Nokia 710. I bought outright, so i could save my upgrade for when Windows releases Windows 8, then i can focus on a really nice phone.
It’s very fast at downloading off the internet. I can watch videos as they download with very little lag. I have also had no software or hardware issues at all.
My only complaint is the battery life could be better, but that may simply be due how I use it, because I’m always on the internet with it and downloading videos and such. But it charges fast enough for me.
