Former White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley acknowledged Wednesday that President Barack Obama has a "very difficult time" with the business community.
"They think he's like Marx or something," Daley said.
Daley made his comments in his first big speech since stepping down as President Barack Obama's chief of staff, giving a home town crowd insights into the White House and beyond.
How does Obama get on with business people?
"They think he's like Marx or something," Daley said. "It's like he's destroyed the world and the financial services industry as we know it. Most of the public today believes the president has been too light on the financial service sector. Nobody's gone to jail. He didn't nationalize the banks. The president has a very difficult time with the business community. Most people in business and most people who are successful are Republican that's just a fact of life."
"....The evidence that Osama bin Laden was really in that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, was so thin, Daley said, that: "Trust me, if you went to 26th and California [the Cook County Criminal Courthouse] with the evidence that Osama bin Laden was in the building, no judge would have given you a search warrant. No way. They would have looked at you and said, 'bring me something real here.' "

“He didn’t nationalize the banks”
Statements like this stub me. It’s as if the banking industry hasn’t been controlled by a cartel blessed with monopoly power on the issuance of legal tender for the past century, during much of which it was illegal to privately own the most popular alternative currency (gold). No, Uncle Sam does not outright own the bank around the corner from your house. But we’ve got the next worst thing.
“Obama warned us what he would do, and few listened”
Joe the Plumber seemed to be listening, but the people who are supposed to be listening for us were more interested in what evils lurked in the heart of Joe the Plumber.
“He only nationalized General Motors!”
I forget, didn’t Bush the Younger technically do that? Or maybe it just sorta happened, and no one was to blame.
No. TARP was a bad idea but Bush’s version of it was for the financial industry only. Fairway Barry expanded it to the auto companies etc.
Then why do the business community support him with donations? Why don’t they ban together with the rest of us and actually try to get rid of him? They deserve the SOB.
YEP
If only Osama's philosophy was that benign,Bill. He is,in fact,*just* like Mao Tse Tung.
Exactly! 0bama isn't Marx, he is actually something the leftside of worse than Marx. He is the community agitator. If he agitates enough...he doesn't need to be Marx, because the community(democracy)will prevail.
Obama: Business Profits Must Be Shared With Workers
If were fighting to reform the tax code and increase exports, the benefits cannot just translate into greater profits and bonuses for those at the top. They have to be shared by American workers, who need to know that opening markets will lift their standard of living as well as your bottom line.
The problem with him saying this, is socialism does not do what he says! In his idealogy, the government must redistribute these profits. And amazingly Americans are not understanding that a company that is profitable provides jobs, good paying jobs, benefits, etc.
Ulsterman’s Wall Street Insider and White House Insider both pegged this awhile back.
When Dem bigwigs like Bill Daley are not on board, the train isn’t leaving the station.
I hope more Dems don’t realize the liability Obama is to them; otherwise they would change their candidate pronto.
That is still possible.
