Who knows? why did he roll so easy?
Amen
Thank you very much, Cajun!! When we get through with this FReepathon and decide to run a special fundraiser for the equipment we can do so. Or we can just do some short term borrowing on plastic and we can pay for it out of our ongoing budget and regular FReepathons. Probably what I should’ve done anyway. I think we’ll be ok.
I definitely agree. I got into this discussion because I felt some people were doing just that, and I was trying to defend the mods and give my explanation for why I think all the venom aimed at Perry (and others) just had to kinda play itself out.
I *always* show up late to all the fun threads. /pouting like a three-year-old>
Cheers!
I actually *don't* have the time to waste. You ought to see my kitchen...
Cheers!
From one old Vet to another brother of Armed Combat, thanks for your service and welcome home. Vote your conscience and don’t fret too much over the keyboard commando’s here on FR. The forum is not as consequential as many of the posters think it is. There was a day, back in the Xlinton years that it was. But sadly no longer.
In addition to fundraiser, what about asking members if they have equipment to donate directly? Many people here no doubt work for IT firms, huge companies, etc. There is a LOT of extra (and perfectly good) network/computer gear around. If folks know what you need, many might be able to donate stuff they or their companies are not using. I see an awful lot of good stuff (even high end servers, etc) at many of my clients simply collecting dust, utterly unused, or donated to schools and such.
The venom was aimed at EVERY candidate. It was (and still is) flying hot and heavy from every direction. I didn’t think that Perry caught any more than the rest. I think Palin caught most (and she wasn’t even in the race) and Gingrich caught hell. And a lot of them came down hard on Bachmann. Perry’s “heartless” comment didn’t do him any good.
For the most part they've been fine, certainly on the primary wars. Primaries, as we both know, are bloody affairs on FR and elsewhere.
Clinton was said to fear most, and leave his most savage attacks, for fellow Democrats.
Well, John has his eye on getting some of the newest powerful servers, plus he’s going to beef up memory on all of our existing servers and add some additional disk storage capacity. We’ll do fine with financing and making payments out of our budget. Thanks!
You are wrong.
Proof is that Palin announced on October 5, 2011 that she would not run for the nomination.
On October 2, I posted
Sarah Palin in "The Undecided," or, Only Her Halibut Knows for Sure
and on October 5, I was at work, but FReepmailed nathan_bedford and asked him to post the following for me:
Sarah Ringbearer, or, A Gift From Frodo
With that last one in mind, it is obvious that some are trying to proceed with The Scouring of The Shire: but Romney/Sharkey, and various Shirriffs/Ted Sandyman types, even here on FR, are making it more difficult.
Whether her motives were noble or just an effort to stay in the spotlight, I don't know. But the impact of her delayed decision did conservatives no favors.
Read my piece Only Her Halibut Knows For Sure; and, after that, the legendary Mrs. Whiskers pointed out an interview Palin had on TV (maybe on Hannity? -- I referred to it in regular posts when it happened) that Palin looked literally shaken -- as though she had received credible bodily threats to her or her family; or maybe it was the rumours of the one-night stand with the U of Michigan basketball player, with promises of further similar tales to be promulgated. Mrs. Whisk. is of the opinion that Palin was literally threatened, in no uncertain terms, in ways she was unprepared to deal with, and decided to fold. And having been married to my wife for so long (decades and decades), I have learned to trust her intuition and feel for interpersonal motivations. Your mileage may vary.
NO cheers, unfortunately.
Is that a boast or a cry for help?
"Or" ...?
Cheers!

THAT was my strong sense at the time, as well.
Thanks to Mrs W for the confirmation.
Love this, Lady.
He saw what they'd already done to Sarah, and is old and wise enough to know he didn't need to go through all of that himself.
I trust him simply by the look in his wife's eyes.
If he'd been cheating, we'd have seen it there.
Cheers!
