Maybe there's something about one of the Alameda County Board of Supervisor's five seats that attracts troubled Bay Area politicians.
Less than a week after Nadia Lockyer resigned her seat on the board following weeks of scandalous revelations of drug abuse and a sexual affair with a meth adddict, disgraced Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi, D-Hayward, reportedly inquired about the post.
Hayashi, who is termed out of the Legislature after this year, contacted three of the four remaining members of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors to gauge their interest in appointing her to fill out Lockyer's term until 2014, the Bay Citizen reported.
This only three months after Hayashi pleaded no contest to misdemeanor grand theft charges after she was nabbed shoplifting $2,450 worth of clothes at Neiman Marcus. Sentenced to three years of probation and fines of less than $200, Hayashi apologized and her attorney blamed her lapsed judgment on a brain tumor, though she has yet to publicly address the seriousness of the condition.
"The technical term for this is chutzpah," said Larry Gerston, a political science professor at San Jose State. "It's rather striking that she would solicit an appointment to another position in government so soon after" her brush with the law.
" It seems that not enough time has passed to show she's learned anything or done anything to rehabilitate herself," he said.

Hayashi could be considered IF she dons a sombrero and a serape. When Nadia resigned, the board tossed around the names of several Americans to take her place.....
But the president of the Third World (AKA the Alameda County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce) insisted the board appoint another Latino to replace Lockyer, who is Latino, “b/c the Latino community deserves it and there are a number of qualified Latino candidates,” the hyphenate said.........(all anxious to further the Third World agenda).
So the good people of Alameda County want to replace one POS with another POS! Makes perfect sense doesn’t it!
Shoplifting your way to the top. now that is a Reality tv concept that oughta give Cops a run for ratings. or..
just more of the same old tired act, Californiaiay declining.
