Gingrich Loses Again, Signals Exit From Race
GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich speaks to supporters in Concord, N.C. saying he will evaluate his position in the race over the next few days. By NBC's Alex Moe
CONCORD, NC -- Newt Gingrich alluded that he may exit the presidential race in the coming days after a disappointing finish in the Delaware primary Tuesday night.
I want you to know over the next few days, were going to look realistically at where we are at in the campaign, Gingrich told a crowd of just one hundred people at his election night rally, calling himself a citizen rather than a candidate.
We want you to know that as citizens, we are going to be right their standing shoulder by shoulder with you and that as we think through about how we can best be effective citizens over the next week or two we are going to rely on you for help and you for advice, he said, speaking at his first election night event in nearly two months.
Gingrich hints he may drop from race this week
The former House speaker finished nearly 30 percentage points behind Mitt Romney in Delawares primary -- a state Gingrich spent the majority of his time over the past month campaigning in. That was the state Gingrich said he hoped would bring him back into contention in the GOP race.

Well, then it may be time to choose the Goode over the evil.
Yep.
“I’m NOT [dropping out] I am in here... Do I need to tattoo it to my forehead, all the way to Tampa?”

Hmmm. So much for the tattoo.
Like I thought, this was rigged from the beginning.
So, it would seem that voting in California’s primary this year will be purely symbolic (except for local races).
Newt is being kicked out with some penguin bites to show. Santorum made a dignified exit with 3 million votes and 11 state wins.
In or out, I’m still voting for Newt on May 8 here in NC.
Newt got spanked bad all over tonight. Time to to quit the game with dignity and party loyalty. Anthing less, and....Newt makes a fool out of himself. Newt’s ability to effect change or have impact on the upcoming election recedes every day he remains in active campaign mode. Sad to watch a great man wallow in fantasy. The real world game begins tonight, Anybody But Obama.
Sooo, republicans WANT the inventor of Romney-care to fight against the inventor of Obama-care..
You can’t make this dreck up..
Republicans have gone GAw-GAw.. eye rolling drooling gaw-gaw..
Anyone but Obama doesn’t automatically equal Romney. If you really are for anyone but Obama you won’t mind others voting for someone other than Romney too.
Just like pro-choice doesn’t automatically mean you always choose abortion. Only pro-aborts say you can’t be pro-choice if you choose life. Only ABO-types say you can’t be ABO if you don’t then vote Romney.
That’s not what he said on Hannity’s show today. He seemed pretty solid about staying in. Romney isn’t the candidate until he gets... What is it? 1140 delegates? Or some such...

Agree 100%. Ever since Gingrich was badly beaten in FL ( a”must-win” state in the general) where he lost in every major demographic he should have quit and most definitely after Santorum’s dramatic one-day trifecta win. Had he done so then Romney who won by 3% in MI and under 1% in OH against Santorum would most definitely have lost. It is widely accepted that had Gingrich quit as much as 60% of his votes would have gone to Santorum. Indeed on Super Tuesday, Carl Cameron for FoxNews reported the “Romney Team was happy to see Gingrich still in the race.” He served as a useful idiot for Romney. Now he’s toast. You are quite correct, unlike Santorum who made a dignified exit despite winning 11 states and over 3 million votes, Gingrich is forced into an embarrassing exit.
But we don’t take our primary battles into the general election. As Sarah Palin put it were need to make Obama a one-term president and at least on this score Gingrich is on board. Our job is to hold Romney’s feet to the fire and make sure he doesn’t veer to to the center-left.
What Gingrich says now is irrelevant. The campaign for November has begun. Just ask Obama. Gingrich needs to make a dignified exit and by all accounts this will occur before the week is over.
You can vote for whomever you choose. That is your God given right!!! However, I also have the same rights to vote for whomever I choose and express my opinion as I see fit and believe. By the way, I am not a great Mitt Romney fan. The real hero of this cycle is Rick Santorum. He came from the absolute bottom of the pile to almost making history for conservatives. Newt, on the other hand, let his ego and “foot-in-mouth” sickness do him in. And....yes I will vote for Romney, because Obama is pure poison for my children and grandchildren, and our country. And.....I will do everything I can to get Obama defeated politically. I’m the over-the-hill gang. I fighting, not for me, but for my family, my kids, my grandkids, all their kids to yet come and our great country.
Do you know for sure the april 24th quote is his?
