Of all the many complaints about airport security and the TSA, one of the most common is that they make little distinction between plausible security threats and passengers unlikely to be doing anything wrong.
And a recent incident in Wichita, Kansas has reinforced that argument, as a four-year-old girl was apparently subjected to a humiliating ordeal after she hugged her grandmother while she was waiting in line.
The girl was accused of having a gun and declared a 'high security threat', while agents threatened to shut down the whole airport if she could not be calmed down.
When asked about the overbearing treatment the girl received, a TSA spokesman did not apologise and insisted that correct procedures had been followed.

What kind of people does the government employ? They do this to a girl who’s barely a toddler. Would they have done this if she were an adult illegal alien?
I just can’t believe that the Republicans have not yet tried to demolish the TSA! What are they waiting for? The people are behind them probably 80% - are they waiting for a higher majority? Geez - This is ridiculous!
I refuse to travel by plane until things change!
Illegal aliens can't get on commercial airplanes because... THEY HAVE TO SHOW TSA A GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID!
They can vote but they can't travel by air.
Republiwusses are waiting for their stones to expand from the microscopic.
Well, I’d guess that unless the majority become Doctors, that we are lost but still waiting for results.
I wish I could remember the name of the freeper that said she was a TSA agent and that there are just a few rotten eggs in their ranks giving her and the other angels she works with a unfair bad rap.
Thanks George W!!!!
Real well thought out plan you put in there.
Thousands Standing Around need to be privatized.
It's a variation; but the 'same stuff' of useful idiots. . .
Of course; there ARE some decent folks in these positions; just not enough; given the task at hand.
How about a Muslim or a child of one. NOPE; they would not. For that matter; how many childen of 'color'; have been victimized by TSA? Would bet 'NONE". . .
Thank you RINO Congress members and Democrats; and yes, some Conservative votes here. And yes; thanks too; to GW; who appeared unable to resist what seemed a pushy ‘mandate’ as the ‘smoke’ still burned from 9/11.
Why do these pictures make me want to shout the f word over and over, actually the f word w/a few others attached to it.
I went through this crap twice. It was enough.
Haven’t flown since.
“All right Dog Breath, Spread em”
All these well-paid TSA gropers with their union jobs are giving the illusion that they are protecting America from air terrorism. What a joke.
Nothing they are doing will detect the body cavity implantation of explosives. That old man with a huge pot gut and a pacemaker may actually have a bomb detonator made to look like a pacemaker and a pot gut filled with Semtex (not the similarly named energy drink). As little as 250 grams (or a little more than 1/2 LB) of Semtex can bring down an airline.
The Muslim terrorists have all the time in the world to perfect their internally implanted bomb designs on live animals.
Might I add, FUTSA!
What makes you think that the Republicans have any interest in constitutional government or in reducing or even reigning in any government function? Republicans gave us "no child left behind," and the senior prescription drug give away funded by our tax dollars to name just two examples. The ethanol as a motor fuel farce is due to Republicans. Even Reagan signed into law the unconstitutional ban on full auto weapons. They're really just "Democrat lite" when it comes to government excesses.
Free men and women don’t do this #%ap to one another and their kids.
