WASHINGTON (AP) Newt Gingrich's daughter says the former House speaker will "reassess" his campaign after the votes are tallied in Delaware, potentially setting the stage for his exit from the Republican presidential race.
Jackie Gingrich Cushman said Tuesday that her father's campaign has slimmed down but is still winning over voters who aren't yet sold on Mitt Romney, who has effectively clinched the GOP presidential nomination.
Despite trailing Romney in convention delegates and fundraising, Gingrich has vowed to campaign until the party's late-summer convention in Florida.
Gingrich is carrying more than $4.3 million in debt and has been spending more money than he is taking in.

Yes, you would have my vote on that
Active Conservatives will be out working for their candidates and voting for them on election day. Unfortunately, it appears there will not be a Conservative running for President on the Republican ticket.
Many, many Republicans are and have been confusing Conservative as synonymous with Republican. There are posters on FreeRepublic.com, a website for Conservatives, who are prematurely assigning blame on Conservatives for Romney’s likely defeat in November. So....
To these guilt-spreading FR posters: Elect Romney if you can without us. Save your insinuations of guilt for someone who won’t reject them outright, as I do.
I’m writing in David Walker, the former Comptroller General.
Of course, for APPEARANCE sake - he knows that works as he already duped enough wins to hand over to hand over if he needs them in the end. He was only about appearance in this race - his record s*^ks and his lying ads prove it. He needs to take down the proven conservative to make himself 'appear' better as RS's record is one of a loser next to Newt's.
Do you really think Mitt went into this race without all his i's and t's taken care of - he's a liberal - he NEEDED cover and his political analyst's knew who he could 'use' and working on it since '08 - with money/favors to pay off the politically hungry. Don't think Rick isn't one of them - and you have nothing but 'your hope' and 'his appearance' on your side to prove he wasn't being used for Romney's agenda. Hope in a lying lawyer who is politically hungry and was voted out because he 'took one for team' - Romney's dream and the reason why he was an easy tap to 'use' him and SPEAKING the 'conservative lingo' made him usable.
No warning needed for me. I already saw Mitt's protectors/ those in his pocket on the platform since the debates. Then looking at their record - NONE had qualifications for the highest office in the land. Their qualifications HAD to be weak or they would be a threat to Romney - just like NEWT IS and needed Santorum to trash Newt in attack ads and needed MB to trash Perry, that was her assignment according to mitt's plan. You don't need me warn you - Rick already did with his record. I'm just reminding you. There is one chance to do it right and there is no going back.
Heck, Newt was the only one who rose up to "mediocre."
Disagree. By the last debate, all four candidates had risen to the level of “mediocre”. Newt could have been at level “outstanding” had he only pushed away from the table once in a while.
Newt is next on Hannity radio.
You are correct. I never liked the philosophy..... “I think that it is great that there are so many conservatives in the race... we get to debate all the ideas and talk about conservative principles... hopefully this debate between conservative candidates goes all the way to convention.” .... all the time, Romney was smiling knowing that our candidates were going to be debating each other, not him.
I think the other problem is that none of the candidates were “pure” enough for some conservatives.
Maybe they were good on 80-90 percent of the issues- but there is one issue that one segment of conservatives could not live with. And other segment of conservative voters were dead set against another conservative candidate for a different reason.
We need to be more forgiving and to realize that everybody who has been in politics for any length of time has cast a bad vote or made a bad compromise.
Now the “conservative” candidate in the general election is likely to be one who has cast a LOT of bad votes and made a LOT of bad compromises.
Ugh..... I am so frustrated at the nomination process these last few times.
Sucks doesn't it....I just voted for Newt and the people there were all pretty much disgusted....the turnout was low and they think had Santorum dropped out earlier we would have had a Newt/Romney selection.....it would have been a different story all together and the race would have been on to the finish line.
People there were really angry at Santorum for screwing the whole Primary up...and handing it to Romney. Further in holding back his delegates
Found it live on 630WMAL.com and am listening now. Thanks.
They purposely do that to discourage further voting when 'Their" guy is ahead...or the race is very close. It works....people figure they're vote won't matter so they stay home.
Newt’s on Hannity right now...he’s talking alot about Romney....saying what Romney is saying right and what he needs to do. Unfortunately it sounds like he’s already “helping” Romney. (sigh).
I will not!
OK when we get to the convention declare a do-over because of the mess in Virginia. That is just criminal what Virginia did and it needs to nullify the entire primary process.
Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results by putting the blame solely on the opponent when yourself are also at fault.

I love ya, but I didn’t get that from what he said, at all.
Hannity asked him if he thought Romney was getting any better at coming out with bold solutions. He complimented him for backing the Ryan budget.
But when starting out, he blew off the story that his daughter is saying he’s about to get out. He said they’ve been saying that about him for months.
He’s in North Carolina even as we speak.
He said the reality is, if Romney gets to 1144, he’s the nominee.
Nothing has changed; he sounded like he has for weeks now.
