Mitt Romney is a Banker… (Mitt and His TARP Buddies)

I am not one to begrudge Mitt Romney for his wealth and how he got it, but I do begrudge him for stipulating and perpetuating a lie that he is not a banker. Mitt Romney is worth a staggering $250 Million and is a banker in every sense of the term. Most of this wealth was earned as the CEO of a Private Equity shop where he and his team flipped companies for profit by making them more lean, i.e. firing people and selling assets. Take a look at the top campaign contributors for Mitt Romney and Ron Paul and you will see who really Mitt Romney will work for if he takes office. ...snip.

Romney’s support of TARP and caring for those “too big to fail” puts him in the social corporatist wing. Make no mistake...social anything is bad for freedom.

I’m no Romney fan, but he’s not a banker.

Since when do branches of the military contribute to political candidates? What is that?

JR says no. He says stay home or write in a conservative like Palin. That way the GOPe gets the message, and the country gets what it deserves, four more years of Obama.
A banker indeed, and a rich one at that. Wait... I’m not quite sure what’s wrong with being a banker, or being rich?

individual contributors have to list their places of employment. IOW, many individual members of the military have contributed, their employer gets rolled up by the reporting agency, and it’s listed as donations originating in that employer’s firm.

If I stay home or vote for Palin, then Obama gets 1/2 a vote. Why not just give him a whole vote?
To: 9YearLurker
Obviously, it’s a tongue in cheek reference to all his support from the financial realm.

Should I vote for 0bama in fall? You should vote for Newt, or God forbid we don't get a brokered convention, Virgil Goode.

Hey Jackass,
If you are going to malign someone, at least have the manhood to ping them so you can do it to their face.
Coward.
To: xzins
You misspelled a word in the title, it’s Bankster.

I suppose one could try to stretch the merchant bank definition to private equity.

I live in Virginia and I wanted to vote for Newt or Rick but neither candidates could get his act together and get on the ballot.

#1 - That's an ad hominem, against the rules here at FR.
#2 - I posted one time to vote for Obama. JR posted directly to me, told me no, don't vote Obama. Vote for a conservative so that the GOPe gets the message. Where is the maligning? You got a problem with Palin?

If I stay home or vote for Palin, then Obama gets 1/2 a vote. Why not just give him a whole vote?If not voting bothers you and your conscience can handle voting for the most liberal candidate the Republican Party have ever nominated, then vote for Romney. I won't for Romney and I feel no guilt for not doing so.
I'm not voting for one turd because it stinks a little less than the other turd. It's still a turd.

Why practice deceit BrownsFan?
Show us where Jim has said that "the country gets what is derserves, four more years of Obama".
You, my FRiend, are a liar.
To: xzins
Just one of many lies. Just wait until the MSM and Hussein really start tearing into him. Our only hope is he takes the GOP Elite down with him.

To: brownsfan; SoConPubbie; Jim Robinson
Jim Robinson has never said "stay home," unless he was posting to a democrat!
He's always said to vote "conservative, and preferably TEA PARTY patriot up and down our ballots wherever possible, but conservative for sure."
The November election is not confined to choosing the next president. If Romney goes onto to become the GOP-E's nominee, then no matter which big-government-pro-abortion liar wins, our side has to have as many TEA Party and solid conservatives in the U.S. Senate and House to try to stop the _resident from enacting his unConstitutional crap.
